In Lookism, Gun Park’s past has always been something everyone has been curious about. But after the “Hunt for Gun Park” arc ended and Gun got sent to prison, a new arc started, Shiro Oni. This arc explained why people in Japan and in South Korea call him “White Ghost” or Shiro Oni. This name was given to him by the Yamazaki Syndicate during his fight with Shintaro Yamazaki, the former leader of the Yamazaki Clan.

Gun Park’s First Appearance in Lookism

Gun first showed up back in Chapter 25, when Daniel Park fought him using his second body. That fight showed that despite having the second body, he is strong enough to take on someone like Gun Park. At the time, Gun was working as Crystal Choi’s bodyguard and was part of Charles Choi’s ten geniuses.

The Shiro Oni arc also explained why Gun has been loyal to Charles for so long. The story goes back to Japan and reveals how Gun was born, raised, and why he left the Yamazaki Clan behind.

Gun Park’s Father and the Creation of the White Ghost

Gun’s real name was never given to him by his father. He was supposed to get it after proving himself, but that day never came. His father, Shingen Yamazaki, used to lead the Yamazaki Clan until Gapryong Kim’s Fist Gang defeated them. After that loss, the clan became desperate, and Shingen became lethargic. The clan tried to create the perfect fighter to take revenge. They focused on creating someone with “reverse eyes” and used women from strong families to give birth to that child. One of them was Park Somi, who became Gun’s mother.

Gun was trained from a very young age. He became strong fast, but he was never sure about becoming the next leader. The only one who really understood him was his cousin Haruto, Shintaro’s son.

Haruto’s Death

When Gun refused to lead the clan, Shintaro realized Haruto was the reason. He forced his own son to choose between killing himself or being killed. Haruto chose to end his life and told Gun to live his own way.

Later, some families tried to remove Shingen from power. Gun and his father fought them off. After that, Shintaro killed those who went against the rules.

Shintaro Yamazaki: The True Heir

But the truth was, Shintaro was supposed to be the true heir. His mother had swapped his and Shingen’s roles. After finding out about this secret, Shintaro lost control. He ended up killing both of his parents.

In the end, Shintaro challenged Shingen for leadership. Shingen died trying to protect Gun. After that, Shintaro married Park Somi. But she betrayed him and helped Gun escape to Korea.

Gun’s Life in South Korea

Once in Korea, Gapryong Kim found him and took him in. At first, Gun Park was shocked, as his entire existence was based on taking down Gapryong Kim and the Fist gang, but instead, he was rescued by him.

Gapryong Kim hid Gun Park from the Yamazaki Syndicate by sending him to a juvenile prison. That is where he met Charles Choi. Gun saw something familiar in Charles, a fatherly figure. That is when the Age of Crews started, with Goo Kim, Tom Lee, James Lee, and Charles.

Later, Charles told Gun to return to Japan and get something called the Red Paper.

Gun Park vs Shintaro Yamazaki

In Chapter 529, Gun finally fights Shintaro. At first, Gun is pushed back. But then Park Somi tries to save Gun Park, taking a fatal hit meant for her son. That moment triggers Gun’s full strength, and he loses consciousness, and we get to see the True UI mode. Gun Park manages to kill Shintaro, but it turns out that Shintaro let Gun kill him.

The Yamazaki Clan members watching the fight realize what it is. They call him Shiro Oni, the White Ghost, because he reminds them of Shingen Yamazaki.

In Chapter 530, Shintaro admits that this was his plan all along. He wanted Gun to kill him and take over as the new leader. After killing his own family and following the clan’s strict rules, Shintaro just wanted it all to end.

Before dying, he tells Gun not to become like him. Gun replies:

I’m not like you. I don’t regret anything I’ve done.

Gun Park to Shintaro Yamazaki

After his death, Gun becomes the new leader of the Yamazaki Clan. But instead of staying in Japan, he returns to South Korea and leaves the clan in the hands of the guardian families.
