It’s Not That Daniel Park Was Weak, Kitae Kim’s Just Built Different

After the latest Lookism chapter 553, many fans were upset with how Daniel Park performed. Some even started calling him weak or useless, especially since he was using his second body and still could not deal any damage to Kitae Kim. But expecting Daniel to stand a chance against someone like Kitae just does not make sense if you look at the full picture.

At the start of the Busan arc (chapter 531), Daniel met James Lee. James warned him about Jinrang and said the “King of Busan” was out of prison and might become someone like Charles Choi. But that conversation was just a setup, James Lee had his own agenda, and even though Daniel knew he was being used, he still agreed to help him take down Jinrang. But his real goal was to talk to Jinrang and warn him about James.

Now that Charles Choi is dead (in the Hunt for Gun Park arc), James Lee is making his move. Kitae Kim and Goo Kim have partnered with him, while Kitae Kim has helped him plenty of times, Goo Kim simply follows money, and they are trying to bring back the Gen 0 chaos era. Daniel did not know that James had people like Goo and Kitae on his side, and without meaning to, he led Jinrang right into their hands.

Why Daniel Park Had No Chance Against Kitae Kim?

In the final part of the Busan arc, both Goo Kim and Kitae Kim showed up in Busan. They killed No. 4 and No. 5 of Jinrang’s crew and then went after Jinrang himself.

Kitae didn’t even break a sweat. He beat down everyone in the Allied crew, even Vasco’s Bredak Forbidden Technique did not work at all on Kitae Kim. Daniel Park also tried, but even with copied moves like Jichang Kwak’s hand blade, his attacks did not land any damage. The techniques were there, but he did not have any mastery, so there was no force behind the punches. Kitae just tanked everything.

Meanwhile, Jinrang also fought against Kitae Kim and lost. As Kitae went for the final hit with his axe, Sang Baek jumped in and took the hit, saving him. No. 3 attacked too, and got taken out. Then Jinrang snapped and went full conviction mode. He did land some hits this time, but still got overpowered. Kitae cut off his arm and ended the fight. He was going for the head, but his younger brother Jake Kim arrived.

Daniel woke up during the Jinrang vs Kitae fight, but even then, he could not do anything. Goo Kim literally sat on him to stop him from interfering. That is how helpless the top second-gen fighter was against the current king of Seoul monster.

Kitae Kim Is On A Different Scale

The hate Daniel is getting right now is kind of unfair. He is still one of the best fighters in the second generation, but Kitae is a whole different type of fighter, even above characters like Tom Lee. Kitae Kim is Gapryong Kim’s son, someone who lived in violence, grew up in it, and lived in Mexico, where killing was just another part of life. His mindset and strength are way beyond most fighters in the series. Moreover, there is an age difference as well, he is likely 26 or 27 years old, while top-tier characters of Lookism like Gun Park and James Lee are in their early twenties. Kitae Kim has much more experience.

Even though Daniel used his perfect body, it was pointed out multiple times in the Busan arc that he still does not have any mastery, he has yet to hit a wall as well. So his hits had no weight behind them. That is why someone like Kitae did not even flinch.

People say, “If Daniel went UI, it would have been different,” but even then, it might have made things worse. Kitae would have just exposed the UI’s weakness and taken him down anyway. At least this way, Daniel stayed alive.

Lookism is not Solo Leveling. The main character is not gonna solo every villain and get a power-up every time. The world of Lookism has thresholds, generations, and people who are just stronger from the start.
