Solo Leveling Episode 24 was everything I hoped for and more. A-1 Pictures went all out, and it really showed.

From start to finish, the fight between Sung Jinwoo and the Ant King was just perfect. The animation, the pacing, the intensity, everything felt on point.

Even though the anime had to speed through parts to get to this fight, it was totally worth it. In the latest episode, they even removed the opening song to give us more screen time. This was hands down the best episode of Solo Leveling so far!

Sung Jinwoo Fights Ant King in Solo Leveling Episode 24 Pick-Up Battle

Like always, A-1 Pictures released the Highlight PICK-UP Battle for Sung Jinwoo vs Ant King on Aniplex’s YouTube channel. The battle is more than 9 minutes long. You can watch the full fight from below!

Sung Jinwoo Saves the S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling Episode 24

The last episode showed how crazy strong the Ant King was. He wiped out almost all the S-Rank hunters, instantly killing seven Japanese hunters and one from Korea.

But unlike the Japanese hunters, he did not finish off the Korean ones right away. After eating the dead queen’s brain, he learned they were the ones who killed her and wanted to torture them before killing them.

The Solo Leveling author even confirmed that if Sung Jinwoo had not shown up when he did, the Ant King would have kept torturing them. He also revealed that the Ant King devoured Byung-Gu to learn human speech.

As Episode 23 ended, Jinwoo used his exchange ability to swap places with the shadow he had placed on the injured S-Rank hunters.

Sung Jinwoo Arrives and the Battle Between Sung Jinwoo and Ant King Begins

Solo Leveling Episode 24 starts with Jinwoo showing up and his shadow soldiers saving the injured Korean hunters.

Since all outside communication was down, nobody could see what was happening at first. He gave them a healing potion, but when he tried to heal Cha Hae-In, it did not work. (In the light novel, he held her in his arms just like in the anime, which was not in the manhwa.)

Jinwoo was about to take her outside so he could find some high-rank healer to heal her when the Ant King appeared again. He had already taken down Goto Ryuji, Japan’s strongest hunter, without any effort.

Then, the broadcast came back, and the whole world saw Jinwoo had arrived. Everyone was confused about how he got there so fast, but at that moment, the biggest concern was the Ant King.

The battle between Korea’s strongest hunter and the Ant King started. At first, they seemed evenly matched, but Jinwoo could not break the Ant King’s exoskeleton.

Japan’s Plan Backfires

Meanwhile, we see the Japanese Hunter Association realizing their plan completely failed. They had betrayed the Korean hunters, hoping they would die in Jeju, but things went terribly wrong for them instead. They did not expect an enemy as strong as the Ant King, who wiped out seven of their S-Rank hunters in an instant.

The Final Showdown Between Ant King and Sung Jinwoo

Back in the fight, the Ant King tried using poison, and at first, it seemed to work, until he realized Jinwoo is immune and detoxified instantly.

The Ant King moved in for the finishing blow, but instead, he got hit with a powerful punch that cracked his exoskeleton.

Realizing Jinwoo was physically stronger, the Ant King switched to speed, opening his wings and flying. Jinwoo pulled out his dual blades, and the real fight started. They were moving so fast that even Baek Yoonho could not keep up with his eyes.

Like when Jinwoo fought Baran, he had a close call, Ant King’s clawed fingers almost stabbed his eyes. But at that moment, his “Mutilation” skill upgraded, and he dodged just in time. He then used his blades to cut the Ant King into multiple pieces.

Knowing he was no match, the Ant King tried to run, but Jinwoo used Ruler’s Authority (his telekinesis skill) to grab him. He used Mutilation again, this time finally killing him.

With the Ant King dead, the remaining ants ran away. The Jeju Island threat was gone, but there was still one big problem, Cha Hae-In’s condition was getting worse.

A Desperate Attempt to Save Cha Hae-In

Jinwoo, desperate, even tried using the Elixir of Life, but the system said it would not work because her condition was not covered by the drug. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with Jinwoo struggling to find a way to save her.

Solo Leveling Episode 24 Review

Solo Leveling Episode 24 adapted Chapters 101, 102, 103, and half of 104. A lot of the key staff from Episode 20 returned for this one, which is why the animation was top-tier.

Special credit goes to Yoshihiro Kanno, Ryota Saito, Takafumi Torii, Hiromi Ogata, Tomomi Igarashi, and Noriaki Nihei. They absolutely delivered, and A-1 Pictures really nailed this episode.

The impact frames, dynamic camerawork, and precise timing of each cut made every hit feel heavy, while the fluid movement of Jinwoo and the Ant King gave the fight insane energy, especially in part 2 of the fight.

A-1 Pictures made sure no detail was overlooked, with smooth transitions, well-placed slow motion, and carefully controlled speed shifts to maximize impact.

Compared to Jinwoo vs Baran in Episode 20, this fight had even more polished choreography and tighter compositing, making it easily the best episode yet.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
