Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been officially confirmed or canceled by A-1 Pictures yet. But with how popular Season 2 was, it is pretty much guaranteed to happen. Season 2 became the highest-rated show on Crunchyroll, with over 700k+ ratings, and even had the highest-rated episode on the platform.
Warning this article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling Manhwa.

There are rumors that Season 3 might take longer to release. These rumors started because Solo Leveling’s director, Shunsuke Nakashige, is busy with other projects. Plus, during Aniplex After Hours, Atsushi Kaneko from A-1 Pictures said Season 2 would be the end “for now” which made fans think there could be a long break.
Solo Leveling Season 2 ended on a massive cliffhanger after adapting 7 arcs, including the Recruitment Arc. A-1 Pictures rushed through some parts so they could fully adapt the Jeju Island Arc, which was one of the most hyped-up arcs of the series. Now that it has been adapted, the pacing will probably slow down in Season 3.

Solo Leveling Season 3 is when the real story begins. It will finally explain why Sung Jinwoo was chosen by the system, why he reawakened, and the truth behind the gates, National Hunters and Monarchs. It will also bring some of the major fights in the series, which I will be covering in this article.

#4 Sung Jinwoo vs Groctar (Chapter 120)
After forming his own guild, the Ahjin Guild, Sung Jinwoo helps the Knights Guild, a well-known guild that has a lot of A-Rank Hunters but no S-Rank Hunters. They find an A-Rank gate, but since it is a high-level one, the Hunter Association does not allow them to enter without an S-Rank Hunter. So, they ask Jinwoo for help. Since he is still in the process of forming his guild, he agrees on the condition that they split the dungeon rewards 50/50.
While Jinwoo is helping the Knights Guild with the dungeon in Busan, a dungeon break happens at Jinah’s school. Orcs come out of the gate and start attacking the students. During the attack, they sense something unusual about Jinah. Even though she is not awakened, she gives off a strong presence because Jinwoo secretly placed shadow soldiers on her for protection. The orcs realize she has magic energy around her, so they decide to kill her.
The shadow high orcs Jinwoo placed on Jinah try to protect her, but then the boss of the dungeon break, Groctar, appears. He easily defeats the shadow orcs, but since they keep reviving, he figures out that the summoner is the problem. He realizes that the shadows are linked to Jinah, so he decides to kill her to stop them from coming back. Groctar grabs Jinah by the face and is about to kill her.
At that moment, Jinwoo senses the danger through his shadows and immediately rushes out of the dungeon. Since he just used Shadow Exchange, he can’t teleport again right away, so he summons Beru to help the Knights Guild and then flies toward his sister at full speed on Kaisel.
By the time he arrives, Groctar has already wiped out Jinah’s protection. Furious, Jinwoo instantly wipes out Groctar’s entire orc army. Then, without wasting time, he brutally kills Groctar for hurting his sister.
#3 Kandiaru (Architect) vs Sung Jinwoo (Chapters 124-130)
Back in Solo Leveling Season 1, Sung Jinwoo and the team he was with got trapped in a double dungeon, a hidden dungeon inside another dungeon. The statues inside started killing hunters, and Jinwoo barely figured out how to open the door in time. But the final commandment required a sacrifice, and Jinwoo chose to be the one to save the remaining hunters. Instead of dying, he was chosen as the Player of the System.
After defeating the Ant King, Jinwoo reached level 100 and got a key to Cartenon Temple, the same place where everything started. This time, it was the Architect (Kandiaru) himself inviting him back. But now, Jinwoo was much stronger, already at level 101.
When he arrived at the Cartenon Temple, another raid team was already there, thinking it was a normal C-Rank Dungeon. Jinwoo warned them that it was a trap and told them to leave, but they refused. When one of the Dragon Guild hunters entered the double dungeon, a statue attacked him, and Jinwoo had to step in to save him. That is when everyone realized how deadly this dungeon actually was.

Once inside, Jinwoo noticed that the statues were not monsters but were being controlled by someone. Then, he figured out that only one of them had a magic presence, the Architect, Kandiaru. Kandiaru made a deal with him, if Jinwoo survived, he would answer all his questions.
Jinwoo tried to summon his shadow soldiers, but the system blocked his abilities inside the dungeon. Even without them, he destroyed the statue army. Seeing this, Kandiaru unleashed the Statue of God, but Jinwoo defeated it too. He demanded that Kandiaru keep his promise, but Kandiaru revealed that the real test was not over yet.
The final phase was a 1v1 fight against Kandiaru, and Jinwoo only had 10 minutes to win, or his heart would stop. During the battle, at first, they were evenly matched, but soon, Kandiaru realized Jinwoo had already surpassed his expectations. Desperate, he sent all the statues at Jinwoo, but Jinwoo destroyed them all. Kandiaru had no choice but to accept defeat.
Then, Kandiaru put Jinwoo in a trance-like state, trying to awaken the memory of Ashborn, the previous Shadow Monarch. Meanwhile, the Hunter Association sent a raid team, including Cha Hae-In, Woo Jinchul, and Choi Jong-In, to rescue Jinwoo.
Since Jinwoo was unconscious, Kandiaru attacked the hunters, planning to sacrifice them for Ashborn’s return. Realizing they could not win, Choi Jong-In figured out their only chance was to wake up Jinwoo.
But instead of Ashborn returning, Jinwoo woke up, and he received the Black Heart. Ashborn had decided not to take over Jinwoo’s body but to pass his power to him instead, betraying Kandiaru in the process.
With this new power, Jinwoo’s mana capacity increased by 100,000, and he finally killed Kandiaru, ending the Architect’s plans for good.

#2 Jinwoo vs Monarch of the Beginning (Chapters 137-138)
During the Japan Crisis Arc, a massive S-Rank Gate appeared in Tokyo, way too dangerous for Japan to handle. Their strongest hunter, Goto Ryuji, had already died at Jeju Island, so they had no one strong enough to deal with it. That is when Jinwoo decided to step in.
As it was a dungeon break, everyone thought the boss was a giant, one so strong that even Jinwoo’s shadows struggled against it. But Jinwoo figured out its weakness and took it down. Normally, this should have cleared the dungeon, but something was off. That is when Jinwoo realized there was a hidden boss.
So, Sung Jinwoo decided to visit the S-Rank Gate, and he found Monarch of the Beginning, chained up by the Rulers. At first, the Monarch was expecting Ashborn, thinking he would be the one to free him. But when he saw Jinwoo instead, he was surprised. Still, since Jinwoo was also a Monarch now, he assumed they were on the same side.

The Monarch of the Beginning offered Jinwoo a deal, asking him to join forces. But when Jinwoo asked if he would also side with humanity, the Monarch hesitated. That moment of doubt told Jinwoo everything he needed to know.
After discussing the Rulers and their role in this war, Jinwoo made his decision, he killed the Monarch of the Beginning, officially clearing the S-Rank Dungeon.
The System then notified him that he had defeated one of the Nine Monarchs, and the battle pushed him to level 122.
#1 Thomas Andre vs Sung Jinwoo (Chapters 146-147)
After Sung Jinwoo vs the Ant King, Thomas Andre vs Sung Jinwoo is the next most awaited fight that fans have been waiting for, and it is finally happening in Solo Leveling Season 3.
Thomas Andre is a National-Level Hunter, one of the strongest in the world. Before Jinwoo got the black heart and leveled up even more, Thomas was way stronger than him. But by the time they actually fought, Jinwoo had already become the strongest hunter to ever exist.
During the International Guild Conference Arc, Jinwoo represented Korea, and Yoo Jinho and Woo Jinchul were with him.
At the same time, Hwang Dongsoo saw this as a chance. He wanted revenge for his older brother, who Jinwoo had killed, so he kidnapped Yoo Jinho to lure Jinwoo out. Even though Hwang Dongsoo knew he was no match for Jinwoo, he had a plan.
When Jinwoo found out, his rage was so intense that even his own shadows felt this rage. The fight between Jinwoo and Hwang Dongsoo was not even close, Jinwoo completely destroyed him.
But Hwang Dongsoo’s plan was not to win. Since he was part of the Scavenger Guild, and Thomas Andre was the leader, this meant Thomas had no choice but to step in once Jinwoo attacked his guild member.

Just like Hwang Dongsoo planned, Thomas Andre stepped in and fought Sung Jinwoo. Unlike most of Jinwoo’s fights, this one was not easy. The manhwa changed a few things, but in the light novel, it was shown that even after leveling up so much, Jinwoo still had trouble dealing with Thomas. He had to dodge a lot since Thomas’s attacks were strong enough to actually hurt him.
But in the end, Jinwoo won. He defeated Thomas Andre, proving once again that he was the strongest hunter alive.
Final Words
The pacing might slow down a bit compared to Season 2, but that is a good thing since there is a lot of important stuff to cover. A-1 Pictures has not announced it yet, but Solo Leveling Season 3 is definitely happening. It is just a matter of time. Which fight are you most excited about?
