Blue Lock Chapter 298, titled “Alone, Together” will be released on April 1, 2025. The manga is still slowly revealing the Round 5 NEL rankings while also showing flashbacks from FC Barcha vs Manshine City before revealing the result.
In the latest chapter, Reo tied the score, bringing it to 2-2. With that, the Master Striker time ended, and both Chris Prince (Manshine City) and Lavinho (FC Barcha) were subbed out.

Reo decided that he and Nagi would become the center of the world just like Otoya and Bachira, which fired him up completely. Nagi, on the other hand, was also willing to match Reo’s ‘fire‘, but even after saying he’d become the “Nagi that Reo desires” it was not enough for him.
Nagi’s ranking dropped to #11 because of his poor performance in previous matches, and this is his last chance to climb back up. He was so desperate that he was even willing to settle for assists just to boost his ranking.
Now some fans think Nagi will score the final goal to raise his ranking, while others believe he will fall even further to set up a proper redemption arc, where he climbs back up from the bottom.

Reo Doesn’t Need Nagi, But Nagi Realizes It First
At the end of Blue Lock Chapter 297, Nagi finally realized something, Reo does not need him to succeed. Reo was able to score and shine without Nagi’s help. But while Nagi understood this, Reo still has not realized it yet and continues to rely on Nagi.
Before Reo’s goal, Chris Prince didn’t trust Nagi at all. Instead of passing to him, he put his faith in Reo and Reo did not disappoint. But after scoring, Reo still apologized to Nagi for not passing to him, showing that he still feels the need to rely on their duo.

At the very end, Nagi made a decision, he can’t rely on Reo anymore. He has to fire up on his own and change himself. The last panel showed Nagi finally fired up. In Blue Lock Chapter 298, we might see an evolved Nagi who plays for himself, not just for Reo.
I have to change on my own. This spirit will pave the new world for Nagi!

What To Expect From Blue Lock Chapter 298?
From the title “Alone, Together” it seems Nagi and Reo are going their separate ways in their journey to be the best in the world. They have always relied on each other, but now it is time to stand on their own.
In the latest chapter, Isagi pointed out that only those who can find their fire and act on it will survive from this point on. The problem in Nagi’s case is Nagi still has not found that fire. This might be his last chance to prove himself before he drops even further in the rankings.
Right now, the match is tied at 2-2, and whoever scores next will decide the outcome. For Nagi, this goal means everything, not just for the match, but for his entire future in Blue Lock.

Both Bachira (#5) and Chigiri (#7) have already scored and played amazingly, so their rankings will definitely improve. Nagi, on the other hand, is sitting at #11 with a 40M yen bid. If he manages to score the final goal, he might at least pass Kunigami. But getting into the top 5 seems nearly impossible since Bachira is holding on strong at that spot.
So, What’s Next for Nagi?
This could go two ways in Blue Lock Chapter 298:
- He finally snaps out, scores, and proves he does not need Reo anymore.
- He fails, drops in rankings, and has to rebuild himself from scratch.
Since the manga lately has been focusing on Nagi struggling, there is a real chance he might fall even further before he truly finds his fire.
So what do you think? Is Nagi going to score and rise up, or will this be his biggest wake-up call yet?
