Blue Box Season 2 is confirmed through leaks by SUGOI Lite, but there has not been an official announcement yet. A lot of fans including me expected the news to be released at this year’s AnimeJapan event on March 22nd, where Blue Box had a green stage panel, but it did not happen. Instead, the announcement is reportedly set to come after the Season 1 finale airs globally on Netflix.

The finale already aired in Japan on March 20th, but since Japan is one episode ahead, Blue Box Episode 25 titled “Even so” will officially release worldwide on March 27th.

Right after that, an announcement is teased, though they have not confirmed it is about Season 2. However, based on leaks, it is clear that they will reveal the renewal.

Back in February, reports suggested that Season 2 was under consideration, and now it seems like TMS Entertainment has officially decided to move forward with the second season.

The anime’s success and strong manga sales likely helped push the decision. However, the anime struggled a bit on Netflix due to its delayed release schedule, leading many fans to watch on unofficial sites instead of waiting a week for Netflix’s global release.

What Will Blue Box Season 2 Cover?

Blue Box Season 1 adapted 8 arcs and ended at Chapter 79, including a flashback from Chapter 80. If Season 2 follows the same pacing, it will cover:

  • Yumeka’s Return Arc
  • Confession Arc
  • Relationship Beginnings Arc
  • Possibly Second Year Beginnings Arc

Blue Box is a Netflix Original and Netflix has exclusive streaming rights. TMS Entertainment is producing the anime, while Telecom Animation Film is handling the animation. The anime started airing on October 3, 2024, and will officially conclude on March 27, 2025, with Episode 25.
