Ever since Nagi got disqualified in Blue Lock Chapter 299 for not making it to the top 23, Kaneshiro (the author), it seems, has not really moved on from his story. He went back to his old life at Hakuho High School and started living like a normal student again.

But it did not take long for him to regret everything. That regret was the main focus in Blue Lock Chapter 302, which showed how empty his life felt after leaving Blue Lock. He cried, he missed the fire he had back in Blue Lock, and it looked like we were getting a proper closure.

But then in the next chapter, his name came up again during an argument between Ego and the Japan Football Union (JFU) chairman. The JFU chairman wanted Nagi back because of his popularity, more fans mean more money. But Ego firmly said no. He did not want Nagi back. That pretty much felt like the final nail in the coffin.

Still, we know Nagi is the second main character in the series. So no matter how things looked, it was kind of obvious that his return was going to happen sooner or later.

Nagi Returns in Chapter 306

Blue Lock Chapter 306 titled “HELLO” is fully focused on Nagi again. The chapter starts with him sitting in class at Hakuho. His teacher tells everyone to head off to their clubs, and his classmate talks about playing Mario Kart. But Nagi zones out and thinks to himself:

“An ordinary, everyday life. It’s not a pain, but this is not it.”

After school, he sees people playing football outside. He looks at them from the window, then grabs his bike and rides off. As he moves, he starts questioning himself: Am I going to die like this? Will I never feel excited about anything again? That thought hits him hard, and he realizes he wants to go back to Blue Lock. He wants to become that passionate version of himself again.

Nagi Camps Outside Blue Lock

Nagi then shows up at Blue Lock’s main gate. He knocks and says, “Excuse me~ Please open up. Please let me in.” But no one answers. He rides off but comes back again with a backpack and sets up a tent outside the gate. He tells himself that it is a long shot, but he will do whatever it takes to get back in.

Later, he starts getting desperate. He kicks a ball at the door and yells. He climbs a tree nearby to see if there is another way in. Nothing works.

That’s when he comes up with a new idea, maybe he can contact one of the Blue Lock survivors and ask them to connect him with Ego. And the first person that comes to mind is his former teammate and best friend, Reo Mikage. But when he tries to send him a message, he finds out Reo has blocked him. The screen says, This account is not accepting messages from you.

Anri Completely Shuts Nagi Down

Suddenly, the intercom comes on. It’s Anri. She tells Nagi that this is private property and he needs to leave. She warns him that if he stays, it will be considered trespassing, and they will call the police. Nagi’s shocked at first. He stutters and begs. But Anri keeps it strict, she says:

You’re no longer part of Blue Lock. You are an outsider now.

Anri to Nagi

She also reminds him that he is the one who chose to walk away. A flashback plays where Nagi pats Reo’s head and tells him to become number one alone.

Nagi Breaks Down

Nagi stands outside the gate feeling completely useless. He starts thinking that he is pathetic for even coming back. What was I expecting? That if I begged, they might take me back? He realizes how badly he leaned on Reo again, even after everything. He thinks to himself:

Everyone else has moved on. Only I’m left behind. I have not changed at all. For me, time has stopped.

Nagi Begs for Another Chance in Blue Lock Chapter 306 Spoilers

Summary

This chapter showed how badly Nagi wants to return to Blue Lock and how lost he feels without it. He tried everything from begging to camping outside, but nobody cared, his best friend even blocked him. It was a good chapter focused on Nagi, which puts Nagi’s emotions front and center, and the ending sets up something big with the JFU chairman showing up.
