Lookism Chapter 548 concluded the Busan Arc, and it ended in the most brutal way, Kitae Kim killed Jinrang, the King of Busan. The Busan Arc started back in Chapter 531, right after the Shiro Oni Arc, which focused on Gun Park’s backstory. Now, after 19 chapters, the Busan Arc has officially ended, leaving Busan with no King.

Meanwhile, the previous chapter revealed James Lee and Kitae Kim’s true goal. They want chaos to take over again, going back to a time even before Gapryong Kim’s rule. And now, two of the strongest characters in Lookism, James Lee and Kitae Kim, have again partnered up to make it happen.

What Was Lookism Busan Arc About?

After Charles Choi’s death, Eugene held up his end of the deal by framing Justin Peng and Chuck Kwak for Gapryong Kim’s murder, clearing James Lee’s name. James Lee then disappeared, claiming he was retiring, but that turned out to be a lie.

Meanwhile, Reporter Kim was investigating Gapryong Kim’s murder. Though Charles Choi, the main suspect, had died, she still went into hiding. Eugene assumed she was hiding because of Charles, but it turns out she found something far worse than him. Though it was not revealed who it was, Eugene asked Tom Lee to help dig into the case from the very beginning.

They already knew James Lee was responsible for the murder, but Eugene wanted to uncover everything leading up to it.

Fast forward to Chapter 531, and things seemed normal after Charles Choi’s suicide and Gun Park’s arrest. But behind the scenes, new alliances were forming. Goo Kim had joined forces with Kitae Kim, and James Lee had already partnered with Kitae Kim long before. These two had killed Kitae’s father, Gapryong Kim, and together, they ended the age of circles and brought in the age of crews.

James Lee later invited Daniel Park to a tailor shop to fill him in on a new problem, Jinrang, the King of Busan. According to James, Jinrang was on his way to becoming the next Charles Choi. Daniel already regretted not stopping Charles in time, which led to countless deaths, including Jichang Kwak’s. James used this guilt to manipulate Daniel into thinking Jinrang was the next big threat, convincing him to go to Busan.

Daniel knew James was playing him, but he still went along with it. Along with Allied and the King of Incheon, he headed to Busan, where they uncovered Jinrang’s underground empire.

Jinrang’s Control Over Busan

Just like Charles Choi had his four crews, Busan had its own four crews, all under one leader, Jinrang. He had just been released from prison, though it was never revealed why he was locked up in the first place.

Years ago, when James Lee was taking down the Kings to end the age of circles, he never fought Jinrang since he was already in jail. Instead, he defeated Jinrang’s gang members, taking their body parts as trophies.

After the Allied took down Busan’s Four Crews, Eli Jang started doubting if they had been on the right side all along. Choi Bongpal, who had tipped them off about Busan’s crimes, was actually working with Goo Kim. It was all a setup to paint Jinrang as the villain. Since Daniel and Allied had already infiltrated Jinrang’s businesses, the fight became inevitable.

Daniel Park did not reveal that he knew James Lee and the King of Incheon were using them. He wanted to talk to Jinrang, and this was the only way to do it. The battle started, and Jinrang easily defeated Allied, Daniel, and even the two Kings who came to help them.

But then, the King of Incheon showed his true motives. James Lee had ordered him to bring both Jinrang and Daniel to him, but he was not strong enough to defeat the Allied. Second-generation fighters turned out to be tougher than he expected.

Just when it seemed like Allied had gained some control, Kitae Kim and Goo Kim arrived. James Lee had already made his intentions clear, he wanted to take over Busan.

The Brutal End of Busan and Jinrang

Kitae Kim had already killed two of Jinrang’s men after arriving at Busan and gave Jinrang a choice, surrender Busan or die. Jinrang refused. Allied tried to stop him, but Kitae Kim took down every single Allied member, including Daniel Park, in a single attack. Then, he murdered Jinrang in front of everyone (though everyone was unconscious due to Kitae Kim’s attacks). And that was just Kitae Kim alone, Goo Kim did not even step in.

Unlike the previous threats Allied faced, Kitae Kim is different. He is ruthless and far too strong for them. He killed Jinrang, the King of Busan and a disciple of Gapryong Kim, without any effort.

The Busan Arc ended with Kitae Kim defeating the Allied and killing Jinrang. James Lee originally wanted Jinrang alive so he could take control of Busan, but Kitae knew Jinrang was too loyal to surrender. So, he took matters into his own hands and killed him instead.

What do you think will happen next? Will Daniel Park finally overcome the wall and get one mastery so he can perfect the copy ability? Or someone from Gen 0 will arrive to save them? There is a likely chance we will get to see UI mode of Daniel again first. Share your thoughts in the comments!
