The Mongolian Death Worm, also called the Kuragari by Turbo Granny, is the main monster introduced in DanDaDan Season 2’s Cursed House arc. At first, the Kito Family believed it was the Tsuchinoko, but that turned out to be the wrong name. This creature is much more dangerous and has been behind the sacrifices in Jiji’s village and house for over 200 years.

Where Did The Mongolian Death Worm Come From?
The Death Worm lives underground right below Jiji’s village. The place it hides in is filled with old ruined houses of people it already killed. Its presence is connected to the dormant volcano near the village. The Kito Family believed that if they did not feed this worm with human sacrifices, the volcano would erupt. So, they kept sending people into the house for generations.
Jiji’s house was one of those sacrifice points. But even though the Kito Family worshipped the worm, it never showed any loyalty. It eats them the same way it eats everyone else.

Abilities of the Mongolian Death Worm
This monster has multiple dangerous powers that make it one of the hardest yokai to deal with in the series.
Psychic Suicide Waves
This is its most dangerous power. The worm can send out waves that mess with a person’s mind and make them want to end their own life. Momo and Okarun both fall under its influence until the Evil Eye shows up and cancels it out.

Electric Attacks
It can release strong electric shocks. It uses this during the underground fight to electrocute Momo, Jiji, and Turbo Granny, and then traps them in some sticky mucus right after.
Fast Regeneration
Okarun cuts off its head using his yokai powers, but the worm just regrows it like nothing happened. It heals super fast and keeps attacking like before.
Sound Tracking
The worm can hear really well. It chases the group inside the lair using just the sounds they make while walking around. It listens carefully to track where they are hiding.
At the end of Dandadan Season 2 Episode 2, the Mongolian Death Worm ran away as Evil Eye was too strong for this creature to deal with. The episode is now streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
