Dandadan Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
Dandadan Season 2 Episode 3 starts with Okarun and Evil Eye clashing. He is mad because Momo got hurt. Okarun knows this fight is not going to end well if he tries to go head-on.

So he picks up Momo and escapes to a higher level using yokai powers. Evil Eye keeps sending out his grudge ball that chases them around, but Okarun moves in circles and manages to lose him.
Once they find a safe spot, Okarun tells Momo that the worm’s poison is spreading underground, and they don’t have time. He tells her to go up, drop a rope later, and let him handle Jiji.
Okarun comes up with an insane idea, he uses a sofa as a launch pad and kicks Momo straight up through a ceiling hole. She uses her psychic powers midair to catch the wall and get to the surface.
You need to escape first so you can save us!
Okarun

Momo’s Plan on the Surface
Now that Momo’s up, she needs to think quickly. She tries to throw a rope made of clothes down, but it was just too short.
Then she tries different methods, but eventually something clicks in her mind and a flashback appears of young Jiji and Momo, and she burns the house down and screams Someone should call the fire department.
Okarun Trapped in Cursed House Made by the Evil Eye
Meanwhile, the Evil Eye traps Okarun in a grudge-filled dimension called the cursed house. The visuals go darker here purple tones, red lighting, and layered shadows.

Evil Eye starts beating him badly. But then he says that he is going to torture Momo next, and that is where Okarun snaps.
Okarun starts punching non-stop while counting out loud, 1 to 20, 1 to 20 again, while yelling the three reasons he is mad: Evil Eye hurt Momo, took over Jiji, and just pissed him off.
The punches land with strong impact frames and raw timing. The sketchy line work makes the weight hit harder. This part of the episode is the peak.

After winning, Okarun passes out. Then he hears Turbo Granny and goes to help, but ends up stuck with her in that orange sticky mess.
There are things you should not have done, and you did three of them. One. You harmed Momo-chan.
Momo vs the Worm
Firefighters arrive, and Momo tells them to spray water on the ground instead of the burning house. But police show up too and try to arrest her. Before that happens, the worm breaks through the ground and shocks everyone.
The worm hides in the shadow of the burning house to avoid the sun. The flashback again appears. She remembers what Jiji told her long ago.
That is when Momo lifts a whole fire truck with her psychic powers and throws it right at the house worm is using for shade. It crashes into the wall and takes away the last bit of shade.

The worm gets hit by the sunlight and dies instantly. The destruction animation stays smooth, and the layering is really good.
At the end of the episode, a volcano in the background starts rumbling, and it seems that the Kito Family was right all along.
Dandadan Season 2 Episode 3 Review
The pacing of the Dandadan Season 2 Episode 3 remains the same, adapted from 4 chapters of the manga.
Okarun’s scenes have a darker tone with reds and purples, while Momo’s side has warmer fire colors and sunset lighting. That helps keep both parts easy to tell apart.
Okarun’s punching scene and Momo’s truck throw are the best animated sections. Both use really good spacing and good timing.

Okarun vs Evil Eye so fucking cool! pic.twitter.com/T8NPYgm4hS
No character goes off-model. No smears or blur effects. Just clean keyframes that give each motion weight.
Momo’s green glow stays consistent through all her scenes and reflects properly in the shadows and lights. Even the truck throw is drawn with full follow-through and reaction.
Science SARU keeps their compositing clean. Flames shift from yellow to red properly. Smoke moves in the background, never covering the characters. The sunbeam that finishes off the worm uses soft light but stays clear. Nothing gets filtered or blurred. All the animation stays readable even during fast action.
