Warning: This article contains spoilers from Blue Box Chapter 197, titled “Take It Slow”, now available on Manga Plus.
Blue Box Chapter 197 continues right after their kiss in the previous chapter. Kouji Miura gave fans a major romantic moment as Taiki and Chinatsu shared their first kiss. While some manga fans expected things to go further, this is not that kind of manga. Blue Box has always kept things realistic and clean, staying true to its slice-of-life and sports romance tone.

As I mentioned in my speculative article on Blue Box Chapter 197, the moment was never going to drag on. And that is exactly what happened. Their kiss gets interrupted by a noise from the neighbors. That is when both of them start wondering if things are moving too fast. They stop and decide to take things slow. Chinatsu says she could live like this forever, but they both head back.
Chinatsu Leaves the Inomata House in Blue Box Chapter 197
Chinatsu packs up and shifts to her new apartment. She has officially left the Inomata house, where she lived for two years. Taiki’s mother gives her a lot of instant food, claiming it is going to be hard living alone. Chinatsu takes one last look at the house, and we get a flashback of the first time she arrived, how the family welcomed her, and treated her like their own. She thanks them again before leaving.
You have all done so much for these past two years
Chinatsu
At her new apartment, Chinatsu stares at all the furniture and boxes, now ready to begin a new part of her life. Taiki, still in school due to the one-year age gap, feels her absence. His day feels a little empty without her presence.

Taiki Feels the Change
The story then shifts to the next day. Taiki feels off the whole day, both at school and his home. He misses the usual routine where Chinatsu would be around. But he does not say anything. Instead, the chapter brings up a new detail, his class is going on a trip to Kyoto. It is a three-day, two-night class trip.
Later, after practice, Chinatsu waits for Taiki. She asks him to bring her a souvenir from Kyoto. She also says she wishes they were in the same grade so they could go together. As they walk to her apartment, Chinatsu invites him upstairs. But Taiki suddenly remembers what happened the last time and backs out, giving a random excuse and running home.
The chapter ends with Chinatsu alone in her apartment, trying to sleep. She is finally living by herself, and the loneliness is slowly setting in.
I think it will take a while for me to get used to this loneliness
Chinatsu
It has been two full years since Chinatsu first started living at Taiki’s house after her parents moved abroad. During that time, their relationship grew slowly and naturally. Taiki confessed in Chapter 103, and Chinatsu accepted. Since then, we have seen a lot of quiet, meaningful moments between them.
Blue Box Chapter 197 Review
Blue Box Chapter 197 shows how real things have gotten for Taiki and Chinatsu. Now that they are not living together, meeting won’t be as easy, and it is obvious this new phase is going to test them a lot. But the pacing and tone still feel right, and Kouji Miura handled it really well.
