After a long and unexpected break, the Spy x Family manga is finally back. Spy x Family Chapter 108 was originally planned to be released in November, but on November 26, it was announced that the series would go on pause until December 8.
The wait felt like forever, but Chapter 108 finally came out on December 22. The delay happened because the author, Tatsuya Endo, was unwell. Now the wait for Chapter 109 begins, but don’t worry, it’s not too far away!

According to the release schedule shared by MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA, Spy X Family Chapter 109 will be released on 6th Jan 2025 in Japan at 1:00 a.m JST. The chapter will arrive on 5th January at 7 AM PT in regions like the USA and UK.

What Really Happened in Chainsaw Man Chapter 108?
When Yor and Anya step into the fortune-telling tent, they’re surprised to find out that Selena is actually Melinda Desmond in disguise.
Yor is shocked to see her, and Melinda is just as surprised but quickly figures out that Yor is at the Winter Sheep Festival with her family.
Melinda, who’s the chairwoman of the Lady Patriots Society, admits that fortune-telling is her little hobby outside of work.
She asks Yor to keep it a secret because it could cause problems for her and her husband if people found out she was into the occult. Yor, who doesn’t have any hobbies of her own, is really impressed by Melinda’s passion and kind of envies her for it.
Melinda, meanwhile, assumes Yor is into divination too, which makes her super happy. She decides to give Yor a fortune-telling session.
But Anya quickly notices her mom is stealing the spotlight from her Friendship Scheme plan. So, before Yor can say anything, Anya jumps in and volunteers for the fortune-telling instead.
Melinda is surprised and agrees to do a tarot reading for Anya, but the cards give some weird results like a Grim Reaper card and a prediction that Anya might never earn another Stella Star.
Melinda asks Anya if she likes her son, Damian. But Anya doesn’t hold back and says she hates him because he always bullies her.
Hearing this, Melinda starts thinking about the complicated relationship between Damian and his dad, Donovan, which leaves her looking pretty upset.
In the middle of the fortune-telling, Melinda decides to head back home. Yor offers to walk her since Melinda mentioned she is not feeling well, but Melinda says she will be fine walking on her own. Loid’s plan failed since he came to this festival to encounter Melinda to initiate Plan C of Operation Strix.
Elsewhere, Damian and his friends are playing around with an Ouija board. Later, when everyone meets up again, Damian starts teasing Anya for holding her parents’ hands.
Anya casually tells Damian that his mom loves him too. Yor jumps in and says she knows Melinda and that Melinda loves Damian a lot. This makes Damian super flustered, and he blushes before running off.
After that, Anya and her family head back home, and Anya says she had a lot of fun today. The next day at the psychiatry clinic, Director Gorey tells Loid that a VIP patient is coming, and he will have to handle her. It turns out the patient is Melinda.
A flashback shows that, back in the tent, Yor had suggested Melinda visit her husband, who’s a psychiatrist.
The chapter ends with Melinda deciding to visit Loid for therapy, though she’s feeling a bit nervous because of Yor’s strange way of describing his methods.
At the same time, Loid confidently tells Director Gorey that he’s ready and will handle it, thinking to himself that even though his plans didn’t work out during the festival, fate has handed him another chance.

Final Words
We’re finally starting to see what’s really going on in the Desmond family. Their family dynamics are pretty unhealthy, Damian gets ignored a lot, while the older son gets all the attention and love because of his achievements.
Now that Melinda is going to Loid for therapy, he might end up learning a thing or two about the issues this family is dealing with.
