Blue Box, one of the most popular animes this fall, is going on a short break after its 12th episode aired on December 19, 2024. The good news is that it is not a long wait, Blue Box Episode 13 is set to be released on January 2, 2025.
This was already confirmed back in September when Blue Box’s official Twitter account shared that the anime would run for two straight cours, making it a full 25-episode series. It airs every Thursday night, and the second cour will pick up right after the short break.

So far, the anime has covered up to Chapter 37 of the manga, with the Fireworks Festival Arc wrapping up in Episode 12.
The next arc, Nationals, has already started and will continue in January, episode 12 ended on a huge cliffhanger, with Chinatsu assuming that Taiki is dating Hina.
Judging by how fast the anime has been adapting the manga (about 2–4 episodes per arc), the second cour will likely cover the Nationals Arc, Cultural Festival Arc, Autumn Training Camp Arc, and Yumeka’s Return Arc.

After the fireworks festival, nationals is approaching quickly with Chinatsu and Haryu practicing repeatedly in preparation for. After Chinatsu leaves for nationals, Taiki realizes from a conversation with Kyo that it is possible that she knows about his date with Hina. However, Taiki decides to just apologize later after nationals is over with him going to watch Haryu compete in the badminton nationals where he runs into Haryu’s girlfriend, Karen Moriya.
What is Blue Box About?
Blue Box story is about Taiki Inomata, a high school guy who plays badminton. He has a big crush on Chinatsu Kano, who is on the school’s basketball team. Things get interesting when Chinatsu suddenly moves in with Taiki’s family.
While Taiki’s dealing with his feelings for Chinatsu, he is also super focused on his goal of making it to the Nationals in badminton. The anime does a nice job of balancing their personal struggles, sweet moments, and the whole vibe of chasing dreams.
Blue Box started airing on October 3, 2024, and is set to have 25 episodes.

All 12 episodes of the first part (cour 1) are streaming exclusively on Netflix. That means you won’t find it on Crunchyroll or other streaming platforms. And as of now, there’s no English dub available, it is only in the original Japanese with subtitles.
