Solo Leveling Anime is owned by Aniplex and produced by A-1 Pictures, a subsidiary of Aniplex. They have already confirmed that Solo Leveling Season 2 will have 13 episodes.
Right now, the anime is in the 11th Arc, called the Hunters Guild Gate Arc, which should conclude in Episodes 5 and 6.
After that, we will move into the Return to Demon Castle Arc, and then the Jeju Island Arc will start, the most awaited arc of the entire series.
How Many Chapters Are Left to Adapt?
The Return to Demon Castle Arc has 14 chapters from the webtoon, and the Jeju Island Arc has 18 chapters. So that is a total of 32 chapters to cover in just 7 episodes.
The pacing is fast, which is great in some ways, but it also feels like the anime is rushing through things. It is a lot to fit in and it is possible the story might not get the time it truly deserves, especially the upcoming Return To Demon Castle Arc.
Why the Jeju Island Arc and Ant King Fight Deserve More Time
Without spoiling too much, the Jeju Island Arc is considered to be the best Arc of the entire Solo Leveling series, because of the fight between Jin-woo and Ant King.
Fans have been looking forward to this fight because it shows just how powerful Jinwoo has become, especially after getting his S-Rank License.
This is his first official raid since then, and it is also when he gets a new shadow soldier stronger than Kargalgan and Igris, and names him ‘Beru’.
The Ant King is way stronger than all the S-Rank Hunters from Korea and Japan. If Jinwoo had not shown up, things would have ended badly for the Korean hunters.
If the anime rushes through this arc, it might feel like they are not giving the fight enough time to really stand out.
This is not just another dungeon boss fight, it is the moment where Jinwoo shows the whole world that he has become way stronger than S-Rank Hunters.
Solo Leveling Season 2 May Get a 1-Hour Finale
There is a chance that Solo Leveling might extend the finale to give us more time for this huge moment. Maybe Episode 13 will be a 1-hour special, or perhaps Solo Leveling Episode 14 will be released as a surprise, combining both episodes to give the fight the attention it deserves.
We won’t know for sure until the last few weeks of the season, but if the anime decides to give the Jeju Island Arc the time it needs, it would be a huge treat for the fans.
Fans would get a more satisfying conclusion for the second season, and we’d be able to enjoy that Jinwoo vs. Ant King battle without feeling rushed.
It is not unusual for anime to extend their finales, especially when there is a big battle coming up. For example, Demon Slayer had an extended finale for its Fourth Season.
This was not planned at first, but they decided to give it more time to wrap things up properly, and fans loved it.
Bleach also did something similar for the final episodes of TYBW Part 2 and 3. Sword Art Online did the same thing.
These examples show that it is totally possible for Solo Leveling to do something similar, especially considering how important the Jeju Island Arc is. If they give it more time, it could make the whole second season feel more complete.

Will Solo Leveling Season 2 have an extended finale? It is possible. If A-1 Pictures decides to give more time to the Jeju Island Arc and the Jinwoo vs. Ant King fight, it could turn out to be one of the best season finales of 2025. We will have to wait and see, but if they do decide to make it longer, it will definitely be worth it.
