Blue Box Episode 20 will be released on 13th February on Netflix Japan. A new recurring character, Ayame Moriya will be introduced in this episode. Manga readers already know her but this will be her first time appearing in the anime.

She is voiced by Kana Ichinose, who is well-known for playing Fern in Frieren and Ichigo in Darling in the Franxx.

Blue Box Episode 20 Will Introduce Ayame Moriya

Kana Ichinose confirmed her role when the Blue Box Cour 2 trailer was released and even shared some thoughts about voicing Ayame Moriya.

I will be playing the role of Moriya Ayame. My name is Ichinose Kana. Ayame-chan seems a little mature for a high school student, but she is a cute and straightforward girl with a life-size personality, and her expressions change all the time, so it was a lot of fun playing her. Ayame-chan’s appearance will bring about another change in the story. I hope you will enjoy future episodes of Ao no Hako. Thank you.

Cultural Festival Arc is still ongoing and the pacing has become a bit slow, the upcoming episode will most likely conclude this arc and will start the Autumn Training Camp Arc.

How To Watch Blue Box Episodes Early on Netflix?

If you want to watch the episode early, you will need to use a VPN, change your location to Japan and then sign in to your Netflix account.

But remember that Blue Box on Netflix Japan does not have English subtitles, so you will have to get them from a third party.

A Reddit user named “SPARKisnumber1” has been uploading the subtitles and sharing a way to watch the episodes on Netflix Japan with English subs for a while now. I have added the method below so you can check it out.

Watching it this way also helps increase the viewership on Netflix, which could help in getting Blue Box Season 2 renewed.

Who is Ayame Moriya in Blue Box?

As mentioned above, Ayame Moriya is a new character who will be introduced in Blue Box Episode 20. She is Karen Moriya’s younger sister and a student at Eimei Senior High. Major Spoilers From Blue Box Episode 20

Taiki Plays The Role of Prince in Blue Box Episode 20

Blue Box Episode 20 continues from where the last episode left off. Nishida Senpai had predicted that Taiki would face a big problem and he was right.

As soon as Taiki enters the room, he finds out that Minamiyama, who was supposed to play the prince in the Snow White play with Hina, is in the hospital after an accident during the sprint race. Since Taiki knows the play well everyone turns to him as the best replacement. Blue Box Episode 20 will fully adapt chapters 63, 64, and 65.

Without wasting any time, Taiki’s classmates put a prince costume on him. At first, he hesitates but he ends up agreeing since there is no better option.

However, he suddenly remembers something, he already invited Chinatsu to watch the play. He was not supposed to be in it, just part of the team that helped create it, but now he is playing the main role.

Worried that Chinatsu might misunderstand, Taiki quickly texts her to explain that his classmates forced him into it.

The Kiss Scene in Blue Box Episode 20

As revealed earlier, the play includes a kiss scene. Since Hina has already confessed her feelings to him, things are really awkward. Luckily, Taiki manages to avoid the kiss by faking it behind a cloth.

Just when he thinks he has survived the worst another mishap happens. The confetti ball hanging over the stage suddenly falls, and Taiki dives to protect Hina, covering her with his own body.

From the audience’s perspective, it looks like they kissed after he tackled her to the ground. This moment confuses everyone, and rumors start spreading about Taiki and Hina “kissing” on stage.

Taiki starts getting worried about what Chinatsu might think after the whole stage accident. He knows they did not actually kiss, but with how it looked, he is sure rumors will reach Chinatsu and she saw it herself as well.

Seeing how stressed he is, Hina tries to calm him down. She tells him not to worry and says she will explain everything to Chinatsu so there is no misunderstanding. The official synopsis of the Blue Box Episode 20 is:

When the student playing the prince in “Snow White” gets injured, Daiki and his friends have to quickly find a replacement. Daiki is begged by his classmates that they don’t want to waste everyone’s practice, and seeing Hina’s serious expression, he has no choice but to accept the role of the prince. With Chinatsu, Karen, and the teasing Hariu and Nishida looking on, the curtain finally rises on the play!
