Demon Castle Arc Begins and Introduces Sung Il-Hwan in Solo Leveling Episode 15 Preview

The Red Gate Arc in Solo Leveling Season 2 has finally wrapped up, and the next arc is about to start. Solo Leveling Episode 15 is all set to start the Demon Castle Arc.

The Red Gate Arc took two episodes to finish, and since the Demon Castle Arc is shorter, it will probably be done by Episode 16.

Out of the ten people who accidentally got teleported into the Red Gate Dungeon, only four made it out alive, thanks to Sung Jinwoo.

He leveled up while fighting in the dungeon and received a new weapon as well but could not summon Baruka, the dungeon boss, as a shadow soldier.

Jinwoo tried three times but failed each time. The reason why he couldn’t summon Baruka will be revealed later on, though it is not explained directly.

You will eventually find out why he could summon Igris but not Baruka, even though both were stronger than him at the time.

Why Demon Castle Arc is Famous?

The Demon Castle Arc is famous for a few reasons. First, this is where Sung Il Hwan, Jinwoo’s father, makes his debut. He is finally showing up in Solo Leveling Episode 15!

Second, this arc is about an S-Rank Dungeon created by the System. Three bosses will show up in this dungeon, Cerberus, Vulcan, and Metus.

Third, at the end of this Arc, Sung Jinwoo will go for a re-evaluation of his rank, since he has leveled up alot. But the rank will be revealed in the Retesting Rank Arc.

There is also some speculations about how Season 2 might end. Rumors are that it will finish with the Jeju Island Arc, the 13th arc in the series.

From how things are moving, it looks like Season 2 might start the Jeju Island Arc, but it won’t wrap it up completely.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead From Solo Leveling Episode 15

What To Expect Solo Leveling Episode 15

Solo Leveling Episode 15, titled ‘Still a long way to go’ is gonna bring in a new dungeon called the Demon Castle, which is created by the System itself. This episode will probably cover chapters 56, 57, and 58 from the Webtoons.

One big moment in this episode is the introduction of Sung Il-Hwan, an S-Rank Hunter from Korea. He will show up claiming he has been trapped in a dungeon for the past 10 years. But not everyone will believe him some hunters will think he is actually a magic beast in disguise.

At the same time, the Red Gate incident will become big news. People will be confused and shocked, wondering how low-level hunters survived while high-ranking ones did not make it out.

To take on the dungeon created by the System, Jinwoo will pretend that he is just going on vacation somewhere.

Jeju Island Will Be Teased

Jeju Island is also gonna get mentioned in Episode 15. It will get teased as part of the bigger story. We will find out that after three failed attempts to reclaim the island from the ants (because of a dungeon break), the Korean government stopped trying altogether.

This episode will reveal that the ants are now able to fly, and they are starting to leave the island. According to the official synopsis of Solo Leveling Episode 15:

Having fulfilled his promise to conquer 19 dungeons with Jinho and having leveled up compared to when he once fought Cerberus, Shun once again challenges the S-rank dungeon Demon Castle in order to gather materials for the “Divine Elixir of Life,” which has the potential to cure his mother’s illness. There, the condition imposed on Jinwoo to clear the quest is to collect 10,000 demon souls.

Solo Leveling Episode 14 Recap

The latest episode, titled “I Suppose You Weren’t Aware,” starts with Jinwoo turning the dead Ice Bears into part of his shadow army.

Kim Chul Loses Control

Meanwhile, Kim Chul, the only high-ranking survivor, barely escapes the Ice Elves and stumbles across the low-ranking hunters with supplies that Jinwoo had summoned. Seeing this makes him furious, thinking they were hiding all this stuff while his teammates died.

Kim Chul loses it and starts blaming the low-ranking hunters, even trying to attack them. But Jinwoo steps in and knocks him out cold.

Baruka vs. Jinwoo and His Army

Baruka, along with the Ice Elves, shows up right after. They had already noticed Jinwoo’s strength in the previous episode.

Because of the System, they could not sense Jinwoo as human and thought he was another magic beast like them.

Baruka tells Jinwoo to step aside and let them kill the humans, but Jinwoo refuses and instantly kills one of the Ice Elves by going straight for its head.

Baruka then flexes about how many soldiers they have, but Jinwoo just summons his shadow army, now with the Ice Bears in it too.

The shadow army takes out the Ice Elves, but Baruka is way stronger than the rest. Jinwoo tries to fight him one-on-one but struggles.

In the middle of this, Kim Chul wakes up and tries to attack Jinwoo. Jinwoo, of course, planned for this. Igris steps in and kills Kim Chul instead.

The Final Battle and Return Home

Jinwoo then summons Kim Chul as part of his shadow army and names him Iron. With Jinwoo, Igris, and Iron teaming up, they are finally able to defeat Baruka after an intense fight.

After Baruka’s death, the gate to return home opens up. Jinwoo tries to summon Baruka as a shadow soldier, but he fails all three attempts.

Back in the real world, Ahn Sangmin and guild master Baek Yoonho are waiting outside the dungeon gate.

When they see only the low-ranking hunters alive, Baek Yoonho gets suspicious and demands answers from Jinwoo.

Jinwoo, who is completely exhausted, shuts him down and tells him to talk to the two hunters from his guild who survived because of him. Baek Yoonho realizes he was being rude and thanks Jinwoo for saving them.

After that, Jinwoo takes Han Song-Yi home. The next day, Yoo Jinho takes Jinwoo to another contracted raid, and this time, Han Song-Yi decides to join them.

Solo Leveling Episode 14 is now streaming on Crunchyroll and Prime Video.
