According to SUGOI Lite, a well-known anime news leaker, Blue Lock Season 3 is now renewed and in production. While the studio Eight Bit has not officially announced anything yet, this leak is enough to confirm that the anime is coming back.

This clears up the confusion fans had after Season 2. Many thought the anime was delayed or maybe even canceled after the poor animation quality in the second season by Eight Bit. But the manga is still doing insanely well and has huge support from fans.

Manga Still Breaking Records

Even after a really bad animated second season, Blue Lock is still one of the most popular manga right now. It was the top-selling manga of 2023. In March 2025, it was confirmed that Blue Lock has over 45 million copies in circulation worldwide.

It also won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category. So it is pretty clear why fans were hopeful Season 3 would still happen even if Eight Bit is busy with other projects.

Warning: Spoilers From Blue Lock Manga Neo Egoist League Arc!

Blue Lock Season 3 Will Cover Neo Egoist League Arc

Blue Lock Season 2 ended with Ego declaring that the first phase of Blue Lock is complete and asking the Japan Football Union to allow the next phase. Now with Season 3 confirmed, we know it is going to start the Neo Egoist League arc.

This arc was created to train players for the U-20 World Cup. Every selected player chooses one of five countries: Germany, England, Spain, Italy, or France. They train with U-20 clubs and learn directly from master strikers who act as mentors.

After training, players take part in matches, and their performance is ranked through the Blue Lock Auction system. Clubs place bids based on how good each player is, and the top 23 will be selected for Japan’s U-20 team.

Studio Eight Bit’s Schedule Might Affect Release Date

Right now, Eight Bit is working on another major project, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4, which is likely releasing in 2026. So it is possible Blue Lock Season 3 won’t come out next year.

Many fans expected it to be released with the 2026 World Cup, but since it is just entered production, a late 2026 or early 2027 release feels more likely now.

Where Blue Lock Season 3 Will Pick Up in the Manga?

Blue Lock Season 2 ended on Chapter 149 after wrapping up the U-20 Arc. Two chapters (150 and 151) from that arc are still left. So Blue Lock Season 3 might either start with those or skip directly to Chapter 152, which begins the Neo Egoist League arc.

We will likely see matches like Bastard Munchen vs FC Barcha and Bastard Munchen vs Manshine City animated next season.

While there is no official trailer or release date yet, the confirmation by SUGOI Lite still gives hope. And with the Neo Egoist League arc being one of the most hyped in the manga, Blue Lock Season 3 could be the comeback Blue Lock anime really needs.
