The Antigonus Notebook is one of the most dangerous items in Lord of Mysteries. It is what causes the original Klein Moretti to die. That is when Zhou Mingrui’s soul enters his body, and the actual story of the anime/web novel starts. The anime explanation is a bit vague, but the web novel explains about the notebook in detail.

What Is the Antigonus Notebook?
It is an old notebook from the Fourth Epoch, written by someone from the Antigonus family. That family was powerful once, but it does not exist anymore. The notebook is written in a coded script that looks like Ancient Feysac, the language of giants.
Anyone who reads the notebook ends up dead in a strange way. That is the main curse as shown in the anime.
- Welch smashed his head into a wall
- Naya drowned in a small basin
- Klein shot himself in the head
All of them died on the same day after reading it. The notebook forces people to kill themselves. The last thing Klein wrote was “Everyone will die, including me”. That line was not his own. It was forced onto him.
What Did It Show?
It shows different things to different people. To Welch and Naya, it showed information about a place called the Nation of the Evernight, located at the top of Hornacis mountain. Later in the story, it is revealed that the notebook also contains three Beyonder potion formulas.
This is why secret groups like the Aurora Order and the Secret Order are looking for it.
The Antigonus family were nobles and beyonders who followed the Seer path. That matters because:
- Klein becomes a Seer too
- The notebook belongs to the Seer path
- Zaratul, the leader of the Secret Order, was once a Seer as well.
The notebook made Klein hide it before dying. He gave it to Ray Bieber, who turned out to be a hidden member of the Antigonus family. The notebook basically returned to someone from its own bloodline.
Ray tried to use the notebook but lost control and turned into a monster. Nighthawks killed him and recovered the notebook from the remains after fighting the clown from “Secret Order” who was also after the notebook. Because of how dangerous it is, the Church of the Evernight Goddess marked it as a Grade 1 Sealed Artifact. Now it is locked away in the Holy Cathedral.
