Jiji’s body is still in possession of the Evil Eye, as revealed in the latest Dandadan Season 2 Episode 5 titled “We Can All Stay There Together!“.
Even though Seiko Ayase had sealed it earlier, the ritual does not completely work. The possession keeps coming back, and the team has to find a way to control it for now.

Dandadan Season 2 Episode 5 Sealing Plan Failed
Back in the Dandadan Season 2 Episode 4, Seiko worked with Manjiro (the priest) and Taro (the model dummy) to trap the Evil Eye inside Taro.
Taro held the body, while Manjiro tried to seal the spirit using a chant. It looked like the ritual worked.
But in Dandadan Season 2 Episode 5, it becomes clear that the Evil Eye is still there. That is because Jiji has strong spiritual energy himself, which keeps the bond with the Evil Eye alive. A normal exorcism is not enough to break this connection.

Seiko’s Discovery
The turning point comes when Seiko finds something strange during a simple test. When Jiji (in Taro’s body) eats hot oden soup, his normal self comes back. But when cold water is thrown on him, the Evil Eye takes over again.

This confirmed heat weakens the Evil Eye’s control over Jiji’s body, and this helps Jiji regain control.
Cold water or even soy sauce can make the Evil Eye return. That is why splashing cold things on him triggers the transformation.

How Seiko Tried to Contain the Evil Eye?
Seiko figures out a way to keep things under control. She gives Momo, Okarun, and Aira thermos filled with hot water. If they notice any signs of the Evil Eye returning, they must use the hot water right away to suppress it.
Even with the plan in place, things don’t go smoothly. In the last part of Episode 5, Okarun accidentally spills soy sauce on Jiji.

That triggers the Evil Eye again. This time, the spirit takes over fully and destroys Seiko’s entire house.
