After Rent A Girlfriend Chapter 380 was released, the fandom is once again losing it, not just over Chizuru rejecting Kazuya after years of buildup, but now there is another post going viral about how much money Kazuya has supposedly spent on her.
The rejection scene was already heavy, but this new number being thrown around, $250,000, has added fuel to the fire.
The Viral Post and the Real Amount
So, this $250K figure started trending from an old fan post that first came out in 2022. It claimed that by Chapter 161, Kazuya had already spent around $249,270.02 USD on Chizuru. But if you actually add the numbers mentioned in that post and convert the yen properly, the total was 2,845,499 yen, which in dollars is closer to $19,740 USD, not $250K.

The post that showed the wrong amount seems to have been a copied version with a wrongly added zero in the currency conversion, and that is what went viral. A well-known YouTuber, Chibi Reviews, shared that version in a video, and now fans are just reposting it everywhere without checking the actual math.
Here is what was actually spent up to Chapter 239, according to a viral Reddit Post:
- Renting Chizuru: ¥1,141,060
- Helping Her Movie Dream: ¥1,749,829
- Total: ¥2,890,889
- USD Equivalent: Around $21,415
This includes every little thing, date fees, movie tickets, clothes, food, and even the crowdfunding stuff Kazuya covered to support Chizuru’s acting career.
Yes, not all that money went directly to her, and yes, not every yen was for rent, but it was still all spent on or for her.

So, What’s the Number Now?
That fan post was only up to Chapter 161, which came out in late 2020. We are now at Chapter 380, so it is obvious that the number has increased. But even with that, it is still nowhere near $250,000. A rough guess based on Kazuya’s spending pattern would place it around $30K–$45K max, not even close to 100K, let alone 250K.
People are angry because Kazuya gave everything, time, money, emotions, and still got rejected. But this number being shared is just not accurate.
The actual total Kazuya has spent is big, no doubt. But the viral number is wrong. Always double-check conversions when it comes to viral posts like these, and don’t fall for the hype.
