The Aging Devil was the main villain of this arc. The Aging Devil started back in Chainsaw Man Chapter 156 and ended in Chapter 190.
After the Chainsaw Man Church Arc, Denji got locked up in a Tokyo detention center for devils because he went against Public Safety. They straight-up dismembered him and left him in pieces.
But then, Fami and Asa/Yoru broke into the place to get him out. Asa wanted to save him because she felt she owed him, while Yoru just wanted to fight him.
Turns out, Yoru wants to be known as the strongest devil, and to do that, she has to take down the most feared one, which was Chainsaw Man.
Things got even crazier when they accidentally freed other Devil Fan Club members too. They even ended up working with Katana Man because he also wanted to fight Chainsaw Man. He had no idea he was actually helping to save Denji since Denji was stuck at the bottom of the building.
Denji’s Trauma Just Keeps Piling Up
This arc was a huge deal for Denji. He already lost Power and Aki because of Makima, and now, the only family he had left Nayuta, the reincarnation of the Control Devil, was taken from him. He had been saving up money for her college, and now she was gone.

After escaping, Denji made a deal with Yoru. If they find Nayuta, he will fight her. Asa actually cares about Denji, but Yoru only wants to defeat Chainsaw Man and steal his power.
She promised Asa that once she beat him and took his strength, Denji could go back to living a normal life.
Fami revealed how this is possible, if Denji’s devil heart is replaced with a human one, he can live a normal life. Asa agreed to let Yoru fight him because of this.
Denji’s not having it. He remembers his old life, where he had to eat toilet paper just to survive, and he refuses to go back to that. Asa, on the other hand, swears she will save him no matter what.
Denji’s Priorities Are… Different
Denji is starving, and he is worried about Nayuta, but when Katana Man suggests they hit up a brothel, his priorities straight up changes. He tells Denji that it will help with his stress and that he even owns a place like that. Denji is like, “Alright, let’s go.”
Asa loses it. She can’t believe Denji is thinking about sex when his adopted little sister is missing. But Denji says he has to take care of his “manly desires” along with his depression.
When they get there, Katana Man is shocked, his place is completely burned down. And to make things worse, it starts raining. Asa’s so fed up at this point, that she doesn’t even care what they eat anymore.
Denji collapses, thinking about what he’s even doing with his life. He admits the only reason he wanted to be famous was to get girls, have tons of sex, and be a playboy. He starts blaming his weiner for making dumb decisions, saying he always thinks with it.
Chainsaw Man 167: Yoru and Denji’s Most Intimate Moment
Yoru straight-up suggests cutting it off so he can think clearly and fight her properly. But instead of cutting it, they somehow end up kissing again.
And well… we all know what happens next. That’s why Chainsaw Man Chapter 167 is so damn famous. Denji’s completely confused by Yoru, and she kisses him again.
He straight-up asks her if she likes him. Yoru admits Asa likes him, and since she’s in Asa’s body, sometimes those feelings affect her too.
After that, Asa and Yoru have a huge internal fight about why Yoru even did that. Asa’s freaking out, thinking Denji’s gonna see her as some kind of crazy person now.
They eventually hop on a train, looking for food. They walk into a sushi restaurant, and this is where everything goes downhill for Denji. He starts looking around, lost in thought, questioning everything he’s done lately.
Barem Bridge Is Back
Then Barem Bridge shows up, the hybrid fused with the Flamethrower Devil. This guy was the second-in-command of the Chainsaw Man Church cult.
He was loyal to Makima, fully believing she could have stopped the Death Devil if she had Pochita under her control. But since Denji killed and ate Makima, Barem decided to continue her “legacy” by tormenting Denji for the rest of his life.
Barem helped Fami with her whole plan to stop the Death Devil from wiping out both humans and devils. He appears in Chainsaw Man Chapter 169 in Aging Devil Arc and was the main villain of the previous Chainsaw Man Church Arc.
As soon as Denji sees him, he goes straight for the attack, trying to stab him. But Barem stops him and says he knows where Nayuta is.
Then he reveals something even crazier, Public Safety is right outside the building. He tells Denji if he transforms into Chainsaw Man and saves everyone, he will take him to Nayuta. But first? He wants Denji to eat sushi.
Denji’s confused, why is this dude suddenly offering him sushi? But Barem says he will only talk about Nayuta’s location after Denji eats.
Denji asks if he just takes care of the Public Safety officers outside, will Barem tell him then? But Barem says no, that’s not what they want.
Nayuta’s Death Was The Last Trigger
Both Public Safety and the last remaining Chainsaw Man Church members just want to see Chainsaw Man’s full power.
Then Barem drops another bomb, Chainsaw Man’s abilities are not just limited to chainsaws. Pochita has the power to erase the concept of devils entirely. Denji’s confused, up until now, he thought he could only summon chainsaws.
Then Barem casually orders a big fat tuna… and suddenly, Denji sees Nayuta’s head on a plate. Denji’s frozen. He does not get what is happening.
Turns out, this was Barem’s plan all along. And Fami was in on it. Both Public Safety and the Chainsaw Man Church wanted to push Denji into fully transforming so they could use his ability to erase concepts for their own benefit.
And then it happens, Denji sees Nayuta’s head, and that’s the final trigger. He transforms into Black Chainsaw Man.
The hybrid devils pull up to Denji’s place to capture him, but they get wiped out. Turns out, Public Safety was testing a theory, can Chainsaw Man actually erase concepts by eating devils? So when he ate the Ear Devil, ears straight-up disappeared from the world.
Yoshida shows up, wraps him up with his octopus devil, and forces him to throw up the Ear Devil. Ears returned after this.
Public Safety’s Plan Revealed
Then, in Chainsaw Man Chapter 174, the real goal of Public Safety comes out. Fumiko reveals that they have been talking to the Aging Devil.
This primal devil has offered a deal, if the Japanese government kills 10,000 kids in front of mirrors at the same time, he will let Chainsaw Man eat him. That means the concept of aging disappears, and humans become immortal.
Public Safety is desperate because of the prophecy, that the Death Devil is coming, and they figure if no one can die from aging, they can’t be wiped out. But Aging Devil left out some pretty big details. Meanwhile, the fight to capture Chainsaw Man is still going down.
War Devil’s True Goal: She Wants to Be the Most Feared Devil
Yoru steps in and finally in a flashback, the bathtub scene of Yoru and Asa, true goal of Yoru is revealed, she wants to be the most feared devil in the world, and for that, she needs to take down Chainsaw Man.
But… I want to beat Chainsaw Man! I want to beat him… and prove that I’m the more fearsome Devil! I’d give anything for that…!
Denji lost control back in Chapter 170 and became the Chainsaw Man. This was Pochita in full form and the perfect opportunity for Yoru to flex her abilities.
The Statue of Liberty Is Gun Goddess
Then comes the biggest reveal, Yoru has kids. Gun Devil and Tank Devil are her children. She turns them into weapons to fight Chainsaw Man, but even that’s not enough.
So she uses her deal as a War Devil, sacrifices the index fingers of 40,000 members of America’s National Pistol Association.
Now she has got a new ability, she controls the Statue of Liberty which turns out to be the Gun Goddess. One shot levels the whole battlefield. She almost takes down Chainsaw Man.
Then, Aging Devil himself walks in and makes Pochita an offer, eat him, and fulfills Public Safety’s deal. But Pochita refuses.
Right when that happens, Yoru finds them in the wreckage and fires a shot at Aging Devil, but he disintegrates it with just his finger. That is the power difference between them.
Neither Chainsaw Man nor War Devil are mature enough to talk to me. Time to have them grow up
Denji and Yoru Are Sent to the Aging World
Aging Devil sends Denji and Yoru into the Aging World, where time stands still. Denji’s out cold, and Asa/Yoru are freaking out. That is when they meet some ex-public safety member who has been stuck there for 82 years. He explains the rules of this world.
Yoru wakes Denji up with a punch, but he’s completely lost, Nayuta’s death broke him. Yoru kisses him again to snap him out of it.
Fast forward, Denji finally gets his confidence back. And another fact about the Aging World is revealed, Denji’s stomach is basically a gateway to the real world.
If he throws up a devil, their concept returns. Pochita makes him throw up Octopus Devil and Yoshida’s now in the Aging World with them.
How Yoshida and Denji Took Down Aging Devil
Pochita made the right call, Yoshida was way smarter than any other devil Denji had eaten. He was not the strongest, but he could actually come up with a plan.
Even though Yoshida and Yoru escape the Aging World using Denji’s stomach, they are still too weak to fight the Aging Devil.
Since their devil powers are practically useless against the Aging Devil, there was no way to win in a direct fight.
That is when Yoshida comes up with a plan, he eats Fumiko’s heart. A giant octopus appears, swallowing up Aging Devil.
Then, the guy who had been stuck in the Aging World for 82 years, the one who was so loyal to Aging Devil, now has a grudge against Aging Devil, grabs him and drags him through Denji’s stomach gateway.
Yaguchi, George, and I… We believed in you… We believed you’d chosen us for some noble cause… and guided us to a deathless paradise. How could you send that Devil to our world?!
Now Aging Devil’s trapped in his own world. His powers don’t work there, and Yoshida makes him an offer, let everyone go, and they won’t come after him again.
Realizing the only other option is being stuck with Denji forever, Aging Devil agrees. He lets them all go, including Denji.
Aging Devil is still alive, but he is out of the picture. The deal with Public Safety is off. And Denji is now better. The arc concluded with Denji, Fumiko (second one), Fami, Asa, and Yoshida eating at a cafe.
