The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Episode 2 picked up right where Episode 1 ended. Rintaro finds out that Kaoruko is from Kikyo Academy, a school that looks down on Chidori. He starts overthinking it and assumes it is better if they stay away from each other.

Kaoruko shows up near Chidori’s school gate to talk, but her friends pull her away, mocking the students there. She does not get a chance to talk to Rintaro.

Later, Kaoruko visits Rintaro at his bakery and says sorry for what happened. She tells him she never cared about the school rivalry and just wanted to see him. But Rintaro is still unsure and says he never expected that she would show up again after finding out Rintaro is from Chidori. And this hurt her.

Rintaro talks to his mom about how he hurt Waguri today. She reminds him that he hates it when people judge him based on how he looks, so why is he now judging Kaoruko based on her school?

The next day, Rintaro goes to Kikyo Academy to apologize. He says he was wrong and that he should have looked at who she is as a person, not just where she studies, and Waguri explains she does not care about school rivalry and wants to learn more about Rintaro. They end up looking at each other through their classroom windows at the end.

The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Episode 3 will likely adapt Chapter 3 and onwards of the manga. From the previews and official synopsis, this episode will introduce a new character, Subaru Hoshina.

Rintaro and Shohei are told by their teacher that if they fail the upcoming midterms, they cannot join the Sports Festival. They try to get help from Saku and Kento, but get turned down. So they go to the library to study together.

Before heading into the library, Rintaro stops by a bench where he runs into Kaoruko again. She is also there to study. Kaoruko’s friend Subaru Hoshina shows up as well.

She is not happy seeing Kaoruko with someone from Chidori. Subaru looks down on Rintaro, and this will likely introduce a new conflict moving forward. According to the official synopsis, The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Episode 3 is described as:

Rintaro and Shohei are told by their homeroom teacher that if they fail the midterm exams they won’t be able to take part in the sports tournament. They ask Saku and Kento for help but are turned down, so the two decide to study in the library after school to avoid failing.
On the way there, Rintaro goes to a bench outside by himself, where he meets Kaoruko, who has also come to study, and they start talking. They are spotted by Kaoruko’s friend, Hoshina Subaru, who dislikes Chidori.
