Recap

Blue Lock Chapter 309 was titled “Reunion” and focused on the players returning to Blue Lock after their 14-day break. Isagi says goodbye to his family and comes back to the facility, where he meets Bachira, Rin, Hiori, Karasu, Aiku, and Barou. The full team is now back.

Ego tells the players they each have gained a new weapon. He also tells them to forget playing for Blue Lock and focus only on their own ego from now on. Ego says he will use them to chase his own goal, and they should use him to reach theirs.

Ego also confirms Japan’s group stage opponents for the U-20 World Cup:

  • First match: Nigeria
  • Second match: France
  • Third match: England

Now, with only 30 days left, the final training camp starts.

In the thirty days before the tournament, I’ll reform you into a brand new egoist team

The second half of the chapter shows Nagi, who was rejected from Blue Lock earlier. He still thinks about his decision and wonders if turning down Buratsuta’s offer was a mistake. Buratsuta wanted to use Nagi to break Ego’s system and offered him a wildcard spot in return, but Nagi declined and stayed loyal to Ego.

However, Nagi is confused. He questions if football means anything without Blue Lock. His ego is clearly lost, and he is not sure what he wants anymore.

Near the end of Chapter 309, Igaguri shows up. He also got eliminated from the Neo Egoist League and finds Nagi at an arcade.

The scene ends with a strange confrontation. Igaguri says he has been looking for Nagi and forms a finger-gun gesture toward him.

This could mean Igaguri is working with Buratsuta now and has come to convince Nagi. Buratsuta gets to choose 3 players for the final roster. We know he offered Nagi and Sae one of those 3 spots. The same could be true for Igaguri.

Could Igarashi Be One of Buratsuta 3?

There is a real chance Gurimu Igarashi (Igaguri) is one of Buratsuta’s three picks. Even though he ranked last in the Neo Egoist League, he had a brief moment in the match against PXG where he used his “Malicia Style”. It’s a technique that relies on drawing fouls by flopping. It worked at first and saved Bastard Munchen for quite some time, but PXG adapted at the end, and he was subbed out by Noa.

Igarashi was one of the few players who had zero chance of making it into Ego’s top 23. But since Buratsuta now has three wildcard spots, he can technically bring anyone back. If Igaguri has already accepted the deal, he might now be part of the Buratsuta 3. And if he is here to bring Nagi in too, then Blue Lock Chapter 310 could reveal that twist.
