Blue Lock Chapter 305 will be released on June 3rd, 2025, at 8:00 AM PT (Tuesday) on the KManga app and Pocket Shonen Magazine app. Muneyuki Kaneshiro confirmed in the latest chapter released that only 45 days are left before the U-20 World Cup starts officially in Japan, with 64 teams participating.
Ego announced a two-week break, letting all 23 Blue Lock players go home. Ego also sent out personal letters to each of them. Isagi’s letter came with something extra, videotapes of past World Cup games. It is still not fully confirmed if all players got the same tapes or if each one received a different task for this break. But in the last panel, we do see that Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami also got the same letter, so there is a good chance that more focus on other characters is coming soon.

The latest chapter, titled “Benefactor of my Dream” focused on Isagi’s personal side as Ego announced a two-week break for the players. After the final Bastard München match, he finally gets some rest and returns home. We see him spending time with his parents, who are happy and proud of how far he’s come. Isagi feels proud, saying he has finally reached number one.

New assignment from Ego
A delivery from Blue Lock shows up. Inside the box are some discs and a letter from Ego. The message says, “Learn about soccer, Isagi”. “The key to your next evolution is in here.”
Isagi tells his parents about Ego, calling him cold but reliable. He says Ego has this unique way of thinking, kind of crazy, but serious about winning. Isagi calls him the reason his dream is even possible. His parents accept how much he’s changed and tell him they’re proud no matter what. Isagi thanks them and then goes off to check the discs.

Why Ego Sent Discs To Isagi?
The first video is footage from the EURO 2008 Final. At first, Isagi does not understand why Ego picked this. But then he starts noticing that it is not about goals, it’s about what happens before them. The passes, the movements, and all the small things leading up to the goal. Isagi figures it out. These clips all show what he calls plays that “smell like a goal.” It’s about reading the game on a higher level. The idea is to feel when a goal is coming based on the buildup, not just the shot.
The final panel confirms that Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami also received similar letters. So Ego’s trying to push all of them to evolve in their own way.

Since the last chapter ended by showing Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami also getting the same letter from Ego, it’s very likely that the upcoming chapter will shift focus to them for a bit. The story just entered a two-week break phase for all 23 selected players, and there are still 45 days left before the U-20 World Cup begins, so now is a good time to briefly check in on the others.
This break arc looks like it’s setting up how each player will prepare for the final stretch. So we might see short scenes of different Blue Lock players back at home or working on their own assignment from Ego.
Nagi’s return still seems unlikely
A lot of fans are still hoping for Nagi to come back, but right now, it does not seem like that’s happening soon. Based on how Kaneshiro is pacing the story, he probably won’t be focusing on Nagi yet.
But if we end up seeing Reo in the next chapter, then there is a small chance Nagi might show up too. Since they are from the same hometown and went to the same school, there is a possibility that Reo visits Nagi or tries to talk to him. If that happens, maybe Reo will try one more time to convince him to accept the Manshine City pro offer and go pro.
Team formation and captain reveal might also happen in Blue Lock Chapter 305
The next chapter is titled “x23”, and that might be pointing towards something else. There is a slight chance we get to see Japan’s U-20 team formation finally being revealed. Ego might start explaining how the team will play, who fits where, or maybe even hint at match strategy.
Another thing to keep an eye on is the captain selection. The story has been building up Isagi for a long time now, and out of the 23 players, he seems like the most complete and reliable choice. If the captain gets confirmed soon, it is probably going to be Isagi.
