Blue Box Chapter 198 Delayed, Series Returns on June 8 with Issue 28

Blue Box Chapter 198 will be released on June 8th, 2025, at 8 AM Pacific Time (PT) on Manga Plus on Sunday. Kouji Miura is taking a break. She confirmed this news via her Twitter account, and Manga Plus has also updated the release schedule of the upcoming chapter.

Recap

The latest chapter, titled “Take it slow” picks up after Taiki and Chinatsu shared their first kiss since getting together in Chapter 103. But now, they both feel like things are going too fast due to the kiss. So they decide to slow things down a bit. It is more of a reset than a breakup, as they are still dating, but both of them seem to be rethinking the pace.

Chinatsu has officially moved out from Taiki’s home where she stayed for the past two years. She has graduated now and is starting a new chapter, living on her own in an apartment. Taiki’s family helps her with the move. Before leaving, Chinatsu takes one last look at the house, emotional about closing this part of her life.

The move changes things between them. Taiki is still in school and still living in the same house, so her absence hits him quickly. He feels it both at home and during school days. They have not just dated for a year but also shared the same living space for two years, so being apart like this is something new for both of them.

The chapter ends on a quiet note, showing how hard it is going to be for Chinatsu, too. In the last panel, she says to herself, “I think it’ll take a while for me to get used to this loneliness.”

Meanwhile, Taiki’s class has a school trip planned, a two-night, three-day trip to Kyoto. Chinatsu mentions how it would have been nice if they were in the same class so they could have gone together.

Alot of fans are unhappy with their decision to take things slow, as they have been dating for a year now.

Blue Box Chapter 198 Will Likely Focus on Kyoto Trip

After the emotional shift in Chapter 197, Blue Box is expected to change pace a bit in Chapter 198. As revealed in the last chapter, Taiki and his classmates are heading to Kyoto for a school trip. This will likely give us a break from the heavy relationship stuff and open space for other characters to return to the spotlight.

Characters Who Might Get Screen Time

Since it is a class trip, we will probably see more of characters like Kyo Kasahara, Hina Chono, Nina Shimazaki, and Ayame Moriya alongside Taiki. It has been a while since Kyo and Ayame got any focus, especially after Ayame started dating Shota Takasago and Kyo decided to keep some distance between them. That arc never really wrapped up, so this trip could give Kyo and Ayame a chance to explore where they stand now.

Depending on how the story flows, this could also help show more of how Taiki’s dealing with being apart from Chinatsu in a completely new setting.
