Warning: This article contains Spoilers from Lookism Chapter 553.
Lookism Chapter 554 will be released on 8th May, 2025 at 11:00 PM Korean Standard Time (KST) on Naver Webtoon. The latest chapter revealed that Jake Kim also arrived in Busan. The reason for his arrival has not been explained yet, but his timing could not have been more important. Right now, there is no one else in Busan strong enough to even stand a chance against Kitae Kim.
Kitae Kim has already shown how dangerous he is. He killed both Jaegwang Do and Hashik Song when he entered Busan, but their bodies vanished. Jake Kim arrived just a bit late, only finding blood and a prosthetic arm at the scene. This confirms someone is covering up Kitae’s trail, even though Kitae himself has no problem killing openly, even in broad daylight.

Even Jinrang’s Conviction Mode Wasn’t Enough
During the fight, Sang Baek came in front of Jinrang to protect him and got axed. Right after that, Hwang Jungseok jumped at Kitae but got hit too. Sang survived barely, but we still don’t know if Hwang is dead or alive.
After that, Jinrang activated conviction mode and fought back. He managed to land a few conviction hits on Kitae, which was impressive. But as expected, it was not enough. Kitae overpowered him, and, in the end, cut off Jinrang’s arm. Just before Kitae was about to finish him off for good, Jake Kim showed up at the scene. His entrance stopped the execution, but the real question now is, can Jake Kim actually fight him?
Jake Kim is the leader of Big Deal and is a really strong second-generation fighter. But compared to Kitae Kim, the gap is huge. Even though they are both sons of Gapryong Kim and have innate strength, Kitae is currently one of the top three strongest characters (alive) in the series right now.

The Gap Between Jake and Kitae Is Still Huge
We have seen Jake Kim use his innate strength before. During the fight with Jinyeong Park, Jake was mistaken for Kitae, and Jinyeong attacked him. Jake was badly beaten at first, but once he accessed his innate power and unlocked mastery, he managed to fight back and even landed a few clean hits before Jinyeong realized who he really was.

Still, that does not change the fact that Kitae is on another level. Back in Chapter 497, Kitae destroyed Jichang Kwak without taking a single hit. And now in Busan, he easily defeated Allied’s fighters, including Daniel Park’s perfect body and Jinrang, even when Jinrang used conviction mode.
So, Jake showing up is not the same as Jinrang and Allied being saved. Right now, it is hard to see how Jake Kim could beat Kitae Kim in a one-on-one fight. And this is not even the first time these two faced each other. Back in Hunt for Gun Park, Kitae arrived in Seoul, he went straight to find Jake. He asked him what he thought about their father, Gapryong Kim. Jake’s life actually depended on how he answered. If Jake had said anything positive, Kitae would have killed him on the spot, just like he already did with their other siblings.
Right now, the only thing that actually makes sense is that Jake Kim won’t go for a fight. It is more likely he will try to convince Kitae Kim and ask him to leave Busan. Kitae has already done enough, he killed multiple people, crushed the Allied crew, and cut off Jinrang’s arm. At this point, there is nothing left in Busan to fight for. The city is basically his now.
Kitae has already made a clear statement with everything he has done. The same thing happened back in Seoul when he defeated Jichang Kwak. After that loss, Jichang was exiled. So, something similar may play out here, too.
Jake’s showing up at the end of the fight does not change the reality. He is strong, but he can not take down the King of Seoul, Kitae Kim. That power gap is just too big.
