Warning: Spoilers Ahead

What To Expect From Blue Box Episode 16?

The new arc starts in Episode 16, and things are about to get interesting. The misunderstanding between Chinatsu and Taiki was cleared up during their stay at the inn in the last episode, so their friendship is in a better place now.

For the cultural festival, Eimei Senior High’s first years will be performing the play Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, with Hina taking the lead role.

Taiki will head out to meet the second-year rep to submit the participant list but will bump into Chinatsu instead. Chinatsu will imagine what life would have been like if Taiki was her classmate, thinking about small things like sitting together.

Later, Taiki starts to realize something. If Chinatsu was not living at his house, the only time he could see her would be during practice. It hits him hard that they might not have had much to do with each other in that case.

But Taiki’s worst fear is about to come true. When he gets home, he finds out that Chinatsu’s mom is back in Japan because Chinatsu’s grandfather has surgery in a month because he fell. Her mom rented an apartment for now, and Chinatsu will be staying with her temporarily.

In Blue Box Episode 16, we will see Chinatsu leave the Inomata house to live with her mom (the whole cultural festival arc). Things are going to change for both Taiki and Chinatsu, and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the distance!

What Happened in Blue Box Episode 15?

Episode 15 focuses on Chinatsu’s birthday, August 26. It starts with the Basketball Girls’ Team celebrating her special day. Meanwhile, Taiki tells Kyo that he knows it is Chinatsu’s birthday, but he is stuck on what gift to give her and still figuring it out.

Later, Taiki has a heart-to-heart with Hina, where he tells her he is completely into Chinatsu and will do everything he can to make things work with her.

This pretty much counts as rejecting Hina after her confession in Episode 14, which had made things awkward between them.

After school, things get busy for Chinatsu. The senior members of the basketball team have left to focus on their entrance exams, and Chinatsu has been made the team’s vice-captain.

Once school ends, Chinatsu heads home. On her way, she talks to her mom on the phone about basketball. After hanging up, she notices Taiki walking behind her.

Taiki surprises her by taking her to the beach, which cheers her up after her loss at Nationals. He even brings out a cake he was hiding and celebrates her 17th birthday with her.

On their way back home, it starts raining, and they discover the train isn’t running due to a landslide. They end up staying at an inn for the night. Taiki lies to his parents, saying everyone from the team is there, but it’s actually just him and Chinatsu.

At the inn, Taiki clears up the misunderstanding about Hina. Chinatsu had thought he went to the festival with her and was hiding it because they were dating, but that wasn’t true. After hearing this, Chinatsu apologizes for creating distance between them, which lightens the mood.

Taiki ends up sleeping on a chair by the window while Chinatsu takes the mattress. The episode ends with Chinatsu saying her first “Good morning” as a 17-year-old. Blue Box Episode 15 covers manga chapters 45-47.

Blue Box Episode 15 is now streaming on Netflix Japan
