Blue Lock is finally back after a short break, but bad news, it is going on another break. Blue Lock Chapter 289 has been delayed.
In the latest chapters, Alexis Ness, who has been playing as the Offensive Midfielder for BM, was kind of missing in action. Even though he was on the field, he barely showed up in the manga.
But now, Ness is back, and many of us thought he’d be the one to help BM score the final goal. Sadly, that did not happen. His strange “master-servant” thing with Kaiser completely ruined BM’s chance.
The rest of BM is in sync, adapting and evolving with the pace of the match. But Ness is still stuck looking up to Kaiser like a loyal fanboy. He has zero ego of his own, and in the Neo-Egoist League, that is a huge problem.

Blue Lock Chapter 288 Part 2: Kaiser Tells Ness to Quit Football
In Blue Lock Chapter 288 Part 2, Isagi realizes Yukimiya’s aggressive playstyle is exactly what he needs to push himself further.
While Isagi sees Yukimiya as a genius to adapt to, Yukimiya doesn’t care about teamwork, he is fully focused on beating Isagi, even if it means taking risks.
During the game, Yukimiya goes for a straight shot from a distance, but Charles blocks it, leading to a loose ball.
Isagi quickly plans to use Ness for a play, but Ness, obsessed with Kaiser like some loyal servant, wastes the chance. Since he wanted to give the ball to Kaiser.
Isagi: It's a fifty-fifty loose ball!

I was waiting for Yukimiya to create this possibility
I can get to him… should I try my straight shot? No, 35 meters is still too much for me, stopping it would be the wrong move!

Karasu steps in and steals the ball from Ness, leaving Ness mentally broken and useless on the field. If he had given the ball to Isagi, the match would have been over by now.
Both Isagi and Yukimiya notice how Ness has been left behind in this fast-paced game. Yukimiya even reflects on how Ness’s ego isn’t connected to anyone, unlike his own.
Kaiser brutally tells Ness to quit football, and Isagi sums it up, this is a death game where only the strongest egos survive.
What To Expect From Blue Lock Chapter 289
This might be a big turning point for Alexis Ness. Even Isagi realized that he couldn’t go further by just sticking to his usual abilities.
Isagi’s awakening happened when he put his pride aside and teamed up with Kaiser, a guy he couldn’t stand.
Now, they are dominating the field, stopping Rin and almost scoring a goal. On the PXG side, Karasu and Charles have teamed up as defenders, making sure Kaiser and Isagi can’t score that final goal either.
Both sides are evolving, but Ness is still stuck in the same place. Kaiser’s harsh words telling Ness to give up football might be the push he needs to break through his limits.
There is a good chance that Ness could be the key to scoring the final goal. He might even join Isagi and Kaiser, turning their duo into a trio to finally seal the deal.
