Blue Box is finally back on its weekly schedule! After Episode 12 wrapped up Cour 1, there was a short break, but Episode 13 started Cour 2 with a fresh start.
In Episode 13, Chinatsu heads to Kyushu for the basketball nationals, but things between her and Taiki feel kind of off. She is still upset because she thinks Taiki didn’t tell her about the date at the festival.
It is all a big misunderstanding, though. Taiki never meant for the festival to be a date, he just planned it so everyone could go together. But things didn’t go as planned, and it ended up being just him and Hina at the fireworks festival.
Hina, who likes Taiki wanted this but Chinatsu sees it differently. Now she believes Taiki lied and thinks he is into Hina instead.
Taiki has no clue that Chinatsu is feeling this way. He is just out here, completely unaware of the mess brewing.
However, in the latest episode 13 Kyo Kasahara explains that this could be the reason why Chinatsu is so upset with Taiki.

Blue Box Episode 13 Recap
The episode starts with Chinatsu leaving for Kyushu for the basketball nationals. It is early morning, and as she is walking, she notices the stars still out, so she stops for a moment.
That is when Taiki shows up, running to catch her because she forgot her wallet. He hands it over, wishes her good luck, and Chinatsu surprises him by asking for a high-five before heading off.
Later at school, Taiki runs into Kyo, who drops some news on him. Kyo says he found out that Imada saw Taiki and Hina together at the festival. Then, he adds that Chinatsu probably knows about it too.
Taiki starts to realize what’s going on. Chinatsu probably thinks he lied to her just to go to the fireworks with Hina, which makes her see him as the kind of guy who’d make stuff up for a date. Feeling bad about it, Taiki decides he needs to apologize to Chinatsu and clear up the misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, at the nationals, Karen (Haryu’s girlfriend) shows up and was talking with Chinatsu on the phone.
She notices Taiki nearby and offers him a chance to talk to Chinatsu since she is already on the line. But as soon as Taiki takes the phone and says hello, Chinatsu cuts the call.
Karen already knows that Taiki and Chinatsu live in the same house and that Taiki has a crush on her. Later, they run into Haryu, who has a match coming up. Haryu is surprised to see Karen at the tournament, but it is clear he is happy she’s there.
Taiki can’t help but admire how Haryu and Karen manage to balance their relationship with all the sports stuff.
Karen then shares their story with Taiki, saying she and Haryu have known each other since fifth grade but weren’t sure about starting a relationship back then.
She talks about a time when Haryu gave her his second-grade diary to cheer her up, which she found really sweet.
That is when Karen decided to confess her feelings to him. It’s a cute story, and Taiki seems pretty impressed hearing it.
Haryu wins his second game, but now his next opponent is Hyodo. Before their match, Haryu and Hyodo have a quick chat, with Haryu saying he wished this match was the finals. Once the game starts, Haryu loses the first round to Hyodo.
Then we get a flashback about Haryu and Karen. Back when they were kids, they first met at a swim school. Karen was not good at swimming, but Haryu helped her learn because she didn’t want to give up without at least trying.
Even after Karen quit swim school, they stayed close since they lived near each other. Haryu started wanting to impress Karen after seeing how she always pushed herself to do her best.
In the present, Haryu gets super motivated thinking about Karen and manages to win the second round against Hyodo.
Haryu managed to push Hyodo to the limit in the third round and even closed the score gap. But in the end, he lost with a score of 18-21.
Still, putting up that much of a fight against Hyodo was a big deal. Feeling upset, Haryu goes out for a run to clear his head.
Meanwhile, Karen talks to Taiki about Chinatsu. She advises him to confess his feelings soon, saying that if he doesn’t, he will just keep hitting a wall. After wishing him luck, Karen heads to the bus station.
At the station, Haryu is there waiting for her. He hugs her from behind and promises he will do better next time. It’s a sweet moment before she gets on her bus. The episode ends here.
