Whenever people talk about the strongest character alive in Lookism, the debate always comes down to two names, Diego Kang and Gun Park.
Both have shown insane strength throughout the series. Gun Park even got an entire arc dedicated to him, “The Hunt for Gun Park” where he remained undefeated.
Eugene had to call the police to stop him because no one else could. That moment alone could have ended the debate, but then Diego Kang chose not to fight Gun Park.
At that point, Gun Park had already fought multiple second-generation fighters, UI Daniel Park, and Goo Kim.
He was completely worn out, so even if they had fought, it would not have been a fair fight. That is why we still don’t know for sure who is stronger between the two.
Who is Diego Kang?
Diego Kang has gone by many names, but most people remember him as James Lee. However, he later discarded that name. He is known for two big reasons, first, he killed Gapryong Kim, the legendary leader of the 0th generation and the Fist Gang.
Second, he became the legend of the 1st generation after defeating the kings. That victory ended the era of circles and started the age of crews under Charles Choi.
Diego was extremely loyal to Charles Choi for a long time, and the feeling was mutual. Charles Choi even made him the CEO of PTJ Entertainment and one of his ten geniuses.
But at the same time, Choi also feared him. He knew that if Diego ever betrayed him, things could get messy.
That is why Charles Choi wanted Daniel Park’s second body to be just as strong as Diego Kang, so he could have someone just as powerful on his side.
Eventually, Diego did betray Charles Choi. With Eugene’s help, he turned against him, which led to Choi’s downfall and eventual suicide.
After the Hunt for Gun Park, Eugene erased Diego’s criminal record by framing someone else for Gapryong Kim’s murder, giving him a clean slate.
But Diego did not stay in the shadows for long. In the Busan Arc, he returned with a different plan. He manipulated Daniel Park by making him believe that the King of Busan would become the next Charles Choi.
Since Daniel already regretted not stopping Charles Choi before, he decided to go along with Diego’s plan, but he was not fooled. Daniel knew Diego was playing him.
The Busan Arc is still ongoing, so we will have to wait and see what Diego’s real plan is.
How Strong is Diego Kang?
Diego Kang is one of the strongest characters in Lookism, and as I mentioned before, he is known for killing Gapryong Kim, the strongest fighter of the 0th generation. But he did not do it alone, he had help from Gapryong Kim’s own son. The fight itself was never shown, so nobody really knows what happened.
Defeating the Kings of the 1st Generation
Diego Kang has beaten almost all the 1st-generation kings, except for the ones who sided with him, like Kitae Kim and Jaegyeon Na.
Every time he defeated a king, he took something from them as a trophy, he took Gongseob Ji’s leg, Taesoo Ma’s eyes, and even some body parts from Busan King’s underlings since Busan King was in prison at that time.
Third Threshold
During his fight with Seongji Yuk, Diego was actually struggling at first. Seongji had the upper hand the whole fight, but then Diego unlocked the third threshold, strength.
He already mastered speed and power, but this new threshold made him even stronger than most Lookism characters.
Diego is not just strong, he is smart too. He only fights when he has to. That is why the fandom nicknamed him “Run Lee” after Chapter 495, when he ran from five kings.
But to be fair, he had fought Seongji Yuk, needed time to recover, and was already exhausted. Even for someone like Diego, taking on five kings at once would have been a bad idea.
Is Diego Kang the Strongest?
Right now, Diego is still one of the strongest characters in Lookism. Some people think he’s #1, while others say Gun Park is stronger because of his TUI (True Ultra Instinct). The debate is still going but we need to see a fight between them to know for sure.
