Chainsaw Man 191 started a new arc after the Aging Devil Arc concluded. Asa, Denji, and Yoshida are now out of the Aging World, sitting in a cafe, ordering food and drinks.
The latest chapter is all about dialogue, no fights, except for Yoru pulling a “bang” on Yoshida. But it is unclear if she was just messing with him or actually trying to kill him.
Yoshida played a big role in getting Denji and Yoru out of the Aging World. Pochita chose him because he believed Yoshida was smart enough to pull it off.
And he did, he quickly came up with a plan to drag the Aging World into his own world, where devil powers do not work, and then made a deal with the Aging Devil.
While they were in the Aging World, Yoshida teamed up with Denji and Asa (even though he cut Asa’s arm). But now that they are out, the alliance is over.
Back in Chapter 170, Barem revealed that Public Safety’s goal was to use Chainsaw Man’s power to erase devils.
Later we find out they even had the primal devil, the Aging Devil, lined up for a deal. If Denji consumed the Aging Devil, he could erase aging itself, meaning no one would grow old or die.
This was their plan to survive because the Death Devil is coming, and once she arrives, humanity is pretty much doomed.
To make Denji break and turn into Black Chainsaw Man, they even killed Nayuta. But in the end, their plan failed, Aging Devil is out of the picture, and things did not go the way Public Safety wanted.
It is interesting how different Denji seems now. Back when Makima manipulated everything, killed Power, and got Aki killed, Denji completely lost it and did not stop until he found a way to end Makima.
But this time, even though his enemies are sitting right in front of him, he is not rushing into a fight. Instead, he is actually talking things out first.
Yoshida Tries To Blackmail Denji
Yoshida tells Denji that Seigi, Katana Man, Haruka, and Nobana, who were helping him for a while, have all been caught and are now Public Safety’s prisoners. But he knows Denji won’t really care since Katana Man wanted to kill him anyway.
Denji tries to focus and figure out what really happened after finding out about Nayuta’s death. He remembers that after he turned into Chainsaw Man, almost everyone who helped him escape the Tokyo Detention Center got caught, except for Asa and Fami. Asa was even able to defeat Pochita and completely destroy Tokyo by using the Statue of Liberty.
Denji Learns the Truth About Yoru and Asa
Denji notices Asa’s arm is back and instantly realizes something is off. That’s when Yoru finally reveals the truth, she is the War Devil and has been living inside Asa’s body all along.
She tries to act intimidating, saying she holds everyone’s life in her hands. Asa has already had a mental breakdown from how many people Yoru has killed using her body, so for now, she’s trying not to add more to the list.
Denji suddenly remembers what happened back in Chapter 167, when he and Yoru had an intimate moment, thinking it was Asa.
Without hesitating, he asks her directly, was it Asa or Yoru? Instead of answering, Yoru makes a deal, she will tell him the truth only if he eats his own hand.
It seemed like Denji had changed when he resisted Yoru’s kiss in the Aging World. But now, he is back to throwing himself into his desires.
Death Devil’s Arrival Teased
Yoshida questions Yoru, if she already defeated Chainsaw Man, why hasn’t she turned him into a weapon yet? That was her whole goal.
Asa wanted to make Denji normal, and Yoru wanted Chainsaw Man’s power. Fami came up with a plan to achieve both at once.
But Yoru still hasn’t done it. She admits that all she needs to do is show Denji a little affection, and he will turn into her loyal dog. She wants to play with him first.
Yoshida, however, is done waiting. He tells her to hurry up and turn Denji into a weapon because the Death Devil is coming, and without Chainsaw Man as a weapon, there is no way to stop her. Even if War Devil and Chainsaw Man fight together, they won’t stand a chance.
Denji finally understands. “So that’s why you wanted me to become Chainsaw Man,” he says. “That’s why you killed Nayuta.”
Denji Tries to Shoot Yoshida
Yoshida hands Denji a gun and reminds him about their earlier talk in the Aging World. He offers Denji a deal, if he lets Yoru turn Chainsaw Man into a weapon, Yoshida will let him kill both Fumiko and himself.
Denji does not even hesitate. He grabs the gun and immediately shoots Yoshida, only to realize it is empty. No bullets. Yoshida just hoped Denji would forgive him.
Meanwhile, Yoru stands up and looks at Denji. “Humans are just liars and schemers,” she says. Their food arrives, and without a second thought, she throws it at Yoshida. Before he can react, she pulls her usual move, pointing at him and saying, “Bang.”
