Blue Lock Chapter 305, titled “x23” picks up right where the last one left off, and it actually follows the exact direction I talked about in the previous article. Ego has given out personalized training assignments to all 23 players selected for Japan’s U-20 World Cup team. This Blue Lock chapter focuses on how each player is spending the 2-week break after the Neo Egoist League.

Ego’s Plan Begins
Blue Lock Chapter 305 opens with Anri making yakisoba while Ego works through the night, preparing the training programs and all the paperwork. Anri’s worried since Ego is barely sleeping, she says he looks worse than a panda now. When Anri asks what kind of training he is giving the players, Ego gives one of his usual cryptic answers.
Ego compares winning the U-20 to cooking. You need the right ingredients and the right process. He says the players are still missing something and now have 14 days to find those missing pieces.
Japan U-20 Players Individual Training Assignments in Blue Lock Chapter 305
Barou Shouei
Barou receives a letter asking him to visit Eisa University. The note tells him it is time to master what he is still missing if he wants to become king. At the university, he is greeted by a group of American football players, which surprises him. They say, “Welcome to American Football.”

Bachira Meguru
Bachira is told, “Learn by teaching. Embrace your inner child.” He is sent to an elementary school and asked to teach soccer to the kids. The children are excited to see him and ask him to coach them.

Chigiri Hyouma
Chigiri’s task is to build stamina and improve his heart and lungs so he can keep up with his speed. His assignment involves swimming training.

Kunigami Rensuke
Kunigami is told to find his answer through combat. His assignment is mixed martial arts and hand-to-hand fighting to become stronger in close range.

Shidou Ryusei
Shidou is given the most open-ended task: “Do everything you want to do before you die.” Blue Lock will cover the costs. He goes skydiving in this chapter, showcasing nobody can control Shidou, not even Ego.

Rin Itoshi
Rin is asked to re-examine his own ego. He is seen in a traditional setting, a dojo, doing quiet meditation. His training is more mental than physical.

Reo Mikage
Reo gets the most detailed segment. He is first seen training in the Mikage Corp’s special facility. There is a flashback of Nagi, where Reo remembers how he thought they would stay together until the end, but things did not go as he imagined.
Reo gets a letter that says: “Make a master copy of all the survivors”. His task is to copy the abilities of the other 22 players using footage stored on SD cards. His butler warns that it is too much in just 14 days, but Reo is determined to complete it. He knows this training is tough for a reason, and Ego always has something productive in mind.

Rest of the Team
The last two panels just quickly show the rest of the squad doing their training too, but we don’t really get much detail on what exactly they are doing. The one that made me laugh the most is Shuto Sendou. He is holding an M4A4 rifle like he is in a shooting game or going to war. Not sure what Ego’s trying to do with him, but it’s probably some kind of mental or stress-related training. It is funny, though.
Oliver Aiku’s panel is pretty on-brand for him. He is seen reading a book, most likely studying tactics or something related to football. The chapter ends on Ego’s words:
After all, everyone here is a striker. When we meet again, without killing that instinct…
Review
Blue Lock Chapter 305 shows how much Ego understands every player, assigning very specific training to push them further. Some players are working on physical skills, others on mentality, and some, like Reo, are doing both. It was a pretty good chapter that builds hype for the U-20 World Cup.
Blue Lock Chapter 306 is set to release on June 10, 2025, and it’s titled “Hello”.
