Just like what happened with Blue Box and Sakamoto Days, Netflix is once again delaying the release for global viewers. Most Asian countries including Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and Thailand will get The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity Episode 2 on July 19, a full week after Japan.

The US and global tier 1 regions like the UK and Canada will get the anime even later, starting from September 7.

The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Episode 1 Recap

The first episode introduces Rintaro Tsumugi, a student at Chidori High, a school known for its bad image. Because of his scary-looking face, most people misunderstand him. He meets Kaoruko Waguri at his family’s cake shop. At first, she runs away thinking she scared him, but later comes back to clear it up. She tells him she never thought he looked scary.

Later, Rintaro saves her from two delinquents. After the whole scene, Kaoruko thanks him and says they should eat cake again sometime. The episode ends with Rintaro finding out that Kaoruko is actually from the elite Kikyo Academy, a school that looks down on Chidori.

Rintaro learns that Kaoruko, the one who looked at him without fear, is a student at the prestigious Kikyo Girls’ Academy. He witnesses firsthand the bad blood between Chidori and Kikyo during an incident at the school gate. Even while thinking it might be better for them not to meet anymore, Rintaro can’t get Kaoruko out of his mind.

He assumed that, because the Kikyo girls openly despise Chidori, Kaoruko probably wouldn’t come to his family’s cake shop again. But when Rintaro returns home, he is surprised to find Kaoruko waiting for him there.
