The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity is part of the Summer 2025 anime lineup and has already gained a lot of attention due to popular source material. Netflix has officially picked up the series for global streaming. The anime will follow a split release pattern, Netflix Japan will stream each episode one week earlier than the global version, similar to how Blue Box was handled.

According to a popular anime news leaker on X, “Sugoi Lite”, the anime is listed for 13 episodes total. It is confirmed to be a 1-cour series. The first episode will be released on Netflix Japan on July 6, 2025. For the rest of the world, it will be released on July 13, 2025.

The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity Anime Plot
The series follows Rintaro Tsumugi, a student at Chidori Public High School. He has a scary image and is often misunderstood. On the other side is Kaoruko Waguri from Kikyo Private Academy, a school for rich girls that looks down on Chidori High. One day, Kaoruko visits Rintaro’s family cake shop. She gets flustered and runs off when she sees him. But the next day, she returns, apologizes, and ends up eating the cake she bought for Rintaro. She tells him she was not scared and actually does not think he is scary at all, something that surprises Rintaro since everyone usually avoids him.
The two schools have a history of rivalry, and things get more complicated when Rintaro finds out Kaoruko is from Kikyo.
