Crunchyroll has officially confirmed that TBATE Season 2 is coming in 2026. The news was shared ahead of the season 1 finale, which will be released on June 18. While many fans were still waiting to see how the first season ends, Crunchyroll released a short clip from Episode 12 that confirmed the continuation of the anime next year.
TBATE Season 1 Did Not Deliver What Fans Expected
TBATE was one of the most hyped anime for Spring 2025 and was expected to compete directly with Solo Leveling Season 2 from Winter 2025. But it did not go as planned. The anime ended up being one of the weakest titles of the season, mostly because of the animation quality. I dropped this anime as well after the first few episodes, one reason being the animation quality other being that the anime is not that much faithful to the source.
The adaptation was handled by Studio A-CAT, a studio with very limited experience when it comes to action fantasy series. The result was far from what fans expected. The animation felt more like a slideshow than a proper action sequence, and people online even started calling it “PowerPoint animation” due to how stiff and slow the scenes looked. For a series like TBATE, which heavily depends on strong action and emotion, this kind of production quality just did not work.

Even though the anime got heavy criticism for its animation, TBATE still managed to remain popular across streaming platforms. This is mainly because of the huge fanbase behind the original manhwa by TurtleMe, who also commented on the announcement of Season 2:
