Solo Leveling Producer Calls Out Episode 23 Leaks, Says It’s a Betrayal to Fans and Staff

Anime episode leaks are not new. Just like how manga chapters get leaked before release, anime episodes often face the same issue.

Solo Leveling has been dealing with leaks since the start of its second season, but lately, it’s been happening a lot more.

For Episode 21, about 11 screenshots were leaked before the episode even aired. Now, Solo Leveling Episode 23 has also had screengrabs leaked online. This time, one of the anime’s producers, Atsushi Kaneko, decided to speak up.

Producer Speaks Out Against Leaks

Kaneko, who posts on X (formerly Twitter) under @kanegone_1006, shared his thoughts on the situation. He called the leaks a “betrayal” to both the creative team and the fans.

I appreciate your anticipation of our latest story. But…it is a real shame that the footage is leaked prior to broadcast and distribution. It is an act of betrayal to the creative staff and the fans who are looking forward to the show. I feel sorry for them. It’s a shame.

Solo Leveling Episode 23 will be released on March 15, 2025 (March 16 in Japan). The episode will focus on the Jeju Island Raid, and fans will finally get to see the Ant King vs. S-Rank Hunters.

Leaking anime episodes before release has been happening for years. It doesn’t just spoil the experience for fans, it also affects the people who work hard to make the show.

Animators, directors, and staff spend months creating these episodes, and when unfinished footage leaks early, it hurts their work.

The episode will be available officially on Crunchyroll, Prime Video, and in some Netflix regions, depending on location.
