Solo Leveling Episode 20 (Season 2 Episode 8) will be released on 22nd February. The second season has been going at a really good pace, and A-1 Pictures is doing an amazing job with the animation.
According to unconfirmed leaks, the upcoming episode’s animation is going to be even better than Episode 18, which was so popular that it crashed a lot of streaming sites, including Crunchyroll.
Right now, we are in the Return to Demon Castle Arc. The Demon Castle is a massive 100-floor dungeon, and the boss on the 100th floor is Demon King Baran.
The system created this dungeon specifically for Jinwoo to level up, and as a reward for defeating the main bosses, he gets special items needed to craft the Holy Water of Life, which can cure his mother’s disease.
So far, Jinwoo has already collected two of the three required items by defeating Vulcan on the 50th floor and Metus on the 75th floor.
But before going further, he returned to get his rank reevaluated and find a weapon that could withstand extreme heat.
In Episode 18, he cleared a top-tier A-Rank dungeon and secured powerful shadow soldiers, including High Orcs and the dungeon boss Kargalgan (an S-Rank boss), whom he named Tusk.
Now, the only thing left is to defeat Demon King Baran to get the final item. Solo Leveling Episode 20, titled “Looking Up Was Tiring Me Out“ will feature this super hyped-up battle.

When Will Solo Leveling Episode 20 Release?
According to the schedule shared by Crunchyroll and other streaming platforms, Solo Leveling Episode 20 will be released in Japan on 23rd February, Sunday, at 12:00 AM JST.
However, because of the time difference, the episode will be available earlier in regions like the USA and UK. It will be released on 22nd February, Saturday, at 9:30 AM PT. I have attached the complete release schedule of Solo Leveling Episode 20 below!

Esil Radiru Will Be Introduced in Solo Leveling Episode 20
After reaching the 80th floor, Jinwoo’s progress started slowing down. His shadow soldiers could not find the permit needed to move to the next floor. So, he gave them two orders, attack all enemies on sight and notify him if they found the permit.
But then, one of his High Orc teams kept getting defeated over and over, which was draining Jinwoo’s mana. Realizing something was off, he called them back.
That is when he figured out that these demons (Esil Radiru’s Squad) were not just strong, they were smart. They were picking weaker teams to attack, avoiding the ones they could not defeat.
Jinwoo understood their plan and predicted their next move. He jumped into the fight and easily took down three knights, but when he removed the mask of the fourth one, she did not fight back. Instead, she surrendered.
Esil’s Deal with Jinwoo
Solo Leveling Episode 20 will start with Jinwoo fighting Esil. She will beg for mercy but then try to attack him when he lets his guard down. However, Tusk will stop the attack and protect Jinwoo with his Hymn of Protection spell.
Realizing she has no chance, Esil will offer a deal, she knows where all the permits are located up to the 100th floor, where Demon King Baran is.
But when Jinwoo asks who she really is, the System will interfere, stopping her from answering, just like it did with Baruka before. After a few more questions, Esil will faint due to the System’s intervention.
From this point, Esil Radiru will become Jinwoo’s ally. She won’t fight but will stay by his side as a spectator when he faces Baran. It benefits Esil too, since defeating Baran and other demons automatically makes her clan the ruler of Demon Castle (since her clan is the weakest).
Jeju Island Ants Will Be Teased
In the latest episode, we got a quick glimpse of the evolved flying ant, but Solo Leveling Episode 20 will properly show how dangerous these ants really are.
Just one ant was able to kill many hunters and civilians, and it was confirmed that it takes at least one A-rank hunter to defeat a single ant. But Jeju Island is not just dealing with one, it has a whole army of them.
These ants are not just strong, they are also smart. They know how to target weak enemies first, especially healers, to make sure their opponents can not recover.
Jeju Island Raid Preparations Begin
Since the Solo Leveling anime is not mentioning countries or nationalities, the discussion about the Jeju Island 4th Raid first meeting will skip mentioning Japan‘s name or China’s name, which in the original story had already started taking precautions, hence alot of those scenes will be cut in the upcoming Solo Leveling Episode 20 but meeting will happen.
On top of that, Hwang Dongsoo’s country will also ask to be included in the Jeju Island Raid. But his real reason for joining is not about fighting the ants, he wants an excuse to come to Korea and take revenge on Sung Jinwoo for killing his brother in the dungeon.

Sung Jinwoo vs Demon King Baran
According to Leakers, Solo Leveling Episode 20 will cover the entire fight between Sung Jinwoo and Demon King Baran.
The fight originally started in Chapter 85 and ended in Chapter 87. The fight in the anime will be more than 7 minutes long and will have plenty of anime-only scenes
The latest Episode 19 ended at Chapter 81, so Episode 20 will start from Chapter 82. That means the anime is set to adapt 6 chapters in the next episode, which is faster than usual since the anime has mostly been adapting 4-5 chapters per episode.
But so far, the leaks have been accurate, so it is likely that this episode will finish the fight. If that happens, then Episode 21 will officially start the Jeju Island Arc.

Finally reaching the top floor, Jinwoo is confronted by Demon King Baran, who appears atop a massive white dragon, exuding an overwhelming aura.
