Solo Leveling Season 2 is all set to start on January 5, 2025, with Episode 13 (Season 2 Episode 1). A new trailer came out on December 21, confirming the release date and a small glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming season.
Before this, a recap movie called Solo Leveling: ReAwakening was released in Japan and Korea. It covered all 12 episodes from Season 1 and also included Episodes 13 and 14 as a bonus.
The anime is being directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and produced by A-1 Pictures, continuing the adaptation of the webtoon by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong, and H-goon.
What To Expect From Solo Leveling Episode 13
At the end of Solo Leveling Season 1, Jinwoo pushes past his limits and gets a new job as a necromancer, becoming the second Shadow Monarch.
With this, he can bring back the defeated creatures as part of his shadow army. He even adds Igris to his army.
Season 1 ended at chapter 45 of the webtoon, wrapping up the Job Change Arc. Solo Leveling Episode 13 will start the Red Gate Arc. The title is revealed to be ‘You aren’t E-rank, are You.’
In this arc, Jinwoo wants to show his sister’s friend, an E-Rank Hunter, how dangerous gates can be. So, he asks Ahn Sangmin to let them join a White Tiger Guild training session for newbies.
But things take a bad turn when the training leads them into a red gate, a super high-level dungeon. Now, they are stuck and can not leave unless they beat the boss. However, they don’t know Jinwoo is no longer the E-Rank Hunter and has an army of the dead on his side.
Solo Leveling Episode 13 will most likely adapt the chapters 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50 from the original webtoon of the series. According to the synopsis shared:
Sung Jinwoo participates in Jinah’s parent-teacher meeting, where he is asked by the teacher to persuade one of her classmates who is planning to drop out of school to become a Hunter.
To show the girl the harsh realities of the Hunter world, Jinwoo takes her to observe the training of rookie Hunters. However, when they step into a C-rank Gate, the surroundings suddenly turn red, and they become completely cut off from the outside world. It turns out they have been transported to a Red Gate connected to a high-level dungeon.
Solo Leveling Episode 13 Release Date
According to the schedule shared on the official website, Solo Leveling Episode 13 will be released on January 5th at 12:00 AM JST.
While in other regions, the episode will be released at 9:30 AM PT. I have attached the complete release schedule of the upcoming episode!

Recap
Episode 12 of Solo Leveling was the final episode of season 1. Jinwoo went head-to-head with a powerful beast Igris who had been waiting for him, Jinwoo was outmatched but somehow managed to defeat him. However, it does not end here, another challenge shows up “beat as many enemies as you can”.

Jinwoo is pushed to the edge, fighting tons of knights with no mana and no way to escape. He is badly hurt, but he keeps fighting, hearing the mocking voices of his past self.
E-Rank hunter. That’s all you’ll ever be
Just when it seems like he is about to lose, the System shows up as his daily quest expired and sends him to a desert for a penalty quest.
After fighting some giant centipedes and leveling up, he gets new weapons (Knight Killer) and skills. He goes back to the throne room, takes down the knights, and defeats some mages.
Finally, he accepts a job change to Necromancer, and the System upgrades him to Shadow Monarch. He then calls Igris the Bloodred to join his army.
