Blue Box Chapter 199 will be released on June 15th, 2025, at 8 AM Pacific Time (PT) on Manga Plus. The chapter will be available on Sunday, and it looks like the story is finally starting to focus on side characters again after a long time.
Kyo and Ayame Might Finally Get Proper Focus
The New Year Celebration arc was mainly about Taiki and Chinatsu. Kyo was pretty much sidelined ever since Ayame started dating Shota Takasago in Chapter 166. Kyo did not confess his feelings and decided to keep some distance from her. Back in Chapter 167, after he got sick and fell from the chair, and was in the Nurse’s office, there was a sequence in which Kyo confessed to Ayame. However, it turns out it was only a dream sequence.
But now with the start of the Kyoto Trip arc, there is a chance the focus will shift toward Kyo and Ayame again. Taiki and his classmates are going on a 3-day trip to Kyoto, as revealed in the Blue Box Chapter 197, since it is a class-only trip, Chinatsu won’t be a part of this trip. This opens up space to give more screentime to Kyo. Moreover, Miura took a short break before Chapter 197 and mentioned visiting Kyoto, which might mean she was planning the setting for this arc.

According to Manga Plus, Blue Box Chapter 199 will be released on 16th June, 2025 at 12:00 AM JST. While in regions like the USA and the UK, the chapter will be available on 15th June at 8:00 AM PT. I have attached the complete release schedule below!

Recap: Trouble Between Ayame and Shota?
In Blue Box Chapter 198, Taiki’s birthday was shown, and we also saw some hints about Ayame and Shota’s relationship. Since Ayame is the only girl managing the all-male badminton club, it made Shota a bit uncomfortable. Kyo told Shota to talk to Ayame about it because, in a relationship, both sides need to compromise. But Shota said he does not want to stop Ayame just because of his own jealousy.
This could be a setup for something to change between Ayame and Shota, which might open up a path for Kyo again. Since Kyo has stayed away from her for a while now, this would be the right time to bring his character back into the story properly.

Hina and Haruto Development
Blue Box Chapter 198 also focused on Hina and Haruto. Haruto passed by Hina and Nina without saying anything. Nina later followed him and told him he is being unclear with Hina. Haruto explained that he is not trying to mislead and is trying to be more careful after someone once told him he was too rough with his actions.
But Nina told him that sometimes, if you don’t take action, you leave no impression. She later told Hina, “That guy might be worth your time,” and Hina agreed. So it looks like their subplot might move forward as well.
