For those who do not know, the anime is about Masamune Okumura, a high schooler who is crazy about the 2D character Liliel.
But his quiet otaku life takes a turn when Lilysa Amano, a new club member who’s into cosplay, asks him to be her photographer.
Lilysa’s goal? To “become” Liliel in real life through cosplay. Masamune Okumura becomes her personal photographer. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger. The official synopsis of the series:
“I have no interest in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Ririsa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Ririsa convinces Okumura to become her photographer—and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Ririsa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.“

To celebrate the season’s success, some of the cast members will be appearing in a special event on December 20.
They will be playing the mobile game 2.5 Dimensional Seduction: Angels’ Stage, a cosplay-themed battle RPG tied to the franchise.
The anime was made by J.C. Staff, with Hideki Okamoto as the director and Takao Yoshioka handling the story. The music, done by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, added its own charm and the series is streaming on HIDIVE.
The original manga by Yu Hashimoto, published on Shonen Jump+, is also available in English thanks to Seven Seas Entertainment. Now with Season 2 in the works, we can look forward to even more cosplay drama soon!
