Tsurugi Okkotsu is one of the main characters in JJK Modulo. He is 17 years old and the grandson of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin.
He is also the older brother of Yuka Okkotsu. From the start, he is shown as a serious and skilled sorcerer who is already under pressure because of his family’s history.
Tsurugi Okkotsu Family Legacy
Tsurugi’s whole character is built around the name of his family. Both of his grandparents are considered legends in the jujutsu world.
Because of this, he is expected to live up to their reputation. His style of fighting and his mindset show how much their legacy still matters in this new generation.
Moreover, in this sequel it is believed Yuta and Maki defeated Sukuna and saved Japan (even though we know the truth who did, but lets leave it at that).
Following Maki Zenin’s Path
Just like his grandmother Maki, Tsurugi was born with a Heavenly Restriction. This left him with almost no cursed energy, even less than a normal person.
In return he was given a body with physical strength that goes beyond humans, just like Toji Zenin who nearly defeated Gojo.
Since Tsurugi Okkotsu does not have cursed energy to use cursed techniques, he depends only on his physical power, his speed, and his skill with cursed tools.
His main weapon is a katana named Honoyagi, which releases fire when he draws it.

The Ring of Yuta Okkotsu
His link to Yuta is more complicated. After Yuta’s death, his ring was given to Tsurugi, even though it was originally meant for Yuka. This created problems between the siblings.

Tsurugi himself never wanted the ring. He feels he does not need it and wants to grow strong without relying on a cursed item like that.
He only keeps it because of family orders, and has promised to return it to Yuka once he proves his strength. For him, the ring is more of a burden than a gift.
Alien Maru and Tsurugi Okkotsu
At first, Tsurugi did not trust Maru and even questioned if the aliens were planning an invasion in JJK Modulo Chapter 3.
Beneath the surface, I think a war of invasion by aliens is about to start. I’m asking if they’re really invading or not.
But this started to change in Chapter 3 when Maru revealed the truth about his twin brother.
After that moment, Tsurugi began to see him differently. He is now one of the few people who know Maru’s secret.
