The Tarot Club came into existence in the first episode of Lord of Mysteries. The concept is really interesting because it was started as accident. Klein never planned it, and it was totally unintentional.
It was simply the result of a failed ritual that got some people together into a secret group, and that group later became an important part of the plot.
It is basically a hidden gathering space that exists above the gray fog (dimension). The members use it to share information, potion formulas, and clues without showing their real identities. Each one picks a codename from the Major Arcana tarot cards.
Note: The members explained below appear in the first four episodes of the anime and are active in the novel’s early chapters. This guide covers events from chapters 1 to 100 of the web novel.
What Is the Tarot Club in Lord of Mysteries?
It all started with Zhou Mingrui, a university student on Earth. One day, he found a ritual in a book. It was called a “Luck Enhancement Ritual“. But the ritual was not complete.
It asked a higher power for help, but never said what kind of help. So the being did whatever it wanted and moved Zhou Mingrui’s soul into the body of Klein Moretti, who had just died.
After becoming Klein in this new world, he tried the same ritual again. He thought it might send him back to Earth. But it failed again. This time, instead of returning him, it pulled two more souls into the gray fog space.
To protect himself and not get exposed as some newbie and weak person, Klein created a throne room using his imagination and acted like he was a powerful being.
He picked the name “The Fool” from a tarot card and acted all godly in front of them. That was how the Tarot Club began.
The First Three Members of the Tarot Club
The Tarot Club started with only three people. Each of them picked a codename from a tarot card.
The Fool: Klein Moretti
Klein is the main character. After becoming Klein, he started the Tarot Club to stay safe and gather information. During meetings, he pretends to be a strong and mysterious figure, but he is still new to the Beyonder world.
He controls the gray fog space and decides when the gatherings start or end. Most of the time, he is quietly learning while acting like he knows everything. His goal is to understand mysticism and find a way to return to Earth.

Klein Moretti
Justice: Audrey Hall
Audrey is a noble girl from Backlund. Her father is a Count in the Loen Kingdom. She is smart and curious. She joined the Tarot Club to become a beyonder and add meaning to her life.
She chose the Spectator pathway after talking with the fellow Tarot Club Member. She is good at acting and understanding people.
She also helps the club financially. For example, she once paid a thousand pounds for a potion formula to a fellow member.
Her dog Susie also became a Beyonder by accident after licking a potion. Later, the dog even learns how to talk.
I have always been hoping that something like this would happen. I mean, I like mysteries and supernatural miracles.
Audrey Hall
The Hanged Man: Alger Wilson
Alger is a Beyonder from the Church of the Lord of Storms. He holds the rank of Seafarer and works as the captain of a ghost ship called the Blue Avenger.
He brings a lot of information to the club. He explains potion sequences, secret organizations, and how the Beyonder world works.
Alger is careful and wants to rise in power. He joined the Tarot Club to get access to things his Church does not provide. He respects The Fool but always stays alert.
Final Words
Tarot Club turned out to be a good way for Klein to learn more about the supernatural world and reach his goals. Moreover, this world also helped him in the Lord of Mysteries Episode 3 against the Clown.
